I will probably go to the grave not knowing when WWFC were formed, or where the thousands of bryl cream boys emptied their guts !! Did Wycombe really get gates of 10,000 in the ‘fifties? I was a supporter of Maidstone United in those days and I would say that the average attendance at the Athletic ground was around 2,500 to 3,000. ---

Dietary fibre didn’t exist in the 1950s. Bananas were still a post-war rarity, broccoli was considered filthy fancy french rubbish and all bread was as white as the driven snow. People would go weeks without a poo. ---

In 60 years of attending football matches (and on occasions with a certain amount of liquid intake beforehand) I’ve never felt the need to sit down as it were. I just assume at these large newer grounds they provide loads of cubicles for those who prefer cocaine to a decent pint. ---
