There is some advantage to playing a team in your own division early on. Less pressure and we will know what to expect. The threat of an embarrassing defeat to a lower league side could blow our confidence and derail our season.

Still dining out on our bleak Christmas 2023. We’ll ignore the most recent defeat when they camped in their own half and got lucky with the cruellest of own goals.
That Boxing Day defeat was particularly dispiriting though.

After the fire at Exeter’s ground over night they might have to cancel the next home game due to the control room going up in smoke. Looking like we should be ok at the beginning of December though.
