Kone's Next Destination

Exactly right it was £4m plus add ons . £3M plus add ons in this context is about right with 1 year left and a fall in form later in the season .

I suspect Kone’s agent is playing some games. Wycombe have stood firm and rejected bids on their red line asking price. They’re not going to suddenly change their mind a few days later.

A cryptic Gmac post will set alarm bells ringing.

Rocky Bissett!! One of our class gave him a ‘sick note’ that read “ My son cannot do games today because he is dead. Signed My Mum”. Rocky just looked at it and told him to go to he canteen and study and then followed up with “ and the rest of the skivers can go as well”. So we did.

I heard a rumour from a source that I have no reason to believe is any more credible than something coming from a line of Chinese whispers that Gmac is as a good as signed for Reading.

I only mention it on the basis that it would make some level of sense given his history there and their owner.

Things have certainly changed for the better. I saw old school Nathan Jones running up and down the touchline, shouting, dropping popular players and criticising his team in interviews and where’s that got him?

As a player? About 5 or so years after leaving, at 38?

That’d be quite a return

Unless he’s sold before Saturday!

It almost certainly means he will be

Dodds’ most confident and well presented interview to date. I have a sneaking feeling Saturday might be the first time it feels like it is coming together and the start of an exciting run for the club!

This season is going to be one big disappointment after another for you.

Moved my comment to the correct thread!

Really hope he’s ready to play tomorrow and is selected.

Otherwise, this rumbling on and not being able to even use him while he’s here is frustrating.

Announcing a 2 year extension right before kick off would be huge. For various reasons.

Would that be a new 2yr contract ending in 2027 or 3 yrs including the year he has left? (Ending in 2028?)

I think the club would look to be offering an immediate pay rise and roll it all into a 3 year deal ending in 2028. Well maybe.

Playing 5 a side footy in the gym with Bissett in charge. It was usual for 1 side to play ‘in skins’ and that was our lot on this particular chilly December morning. My punishment from Bissett for persistently lofting the ball above ‘head height’, a particularly grievous sin in Bissett’s book? - sent over the zebra crossing near Pan Mill to run a couple of laps of the Rye perimeter.

They’re going to bring a large desk out onto the pitch on Saturday, sit Kone down behind it and he’ll sign a 2 year extension to his contract, score a hatrick then be sold to Leicester for £10million after the game.

You heard it here first.

He’s not Keith Scott.

Oh wait, that was to Reading. My mistake.
