Lincoln CIty (h) Attendance Prediction - Sat 23rd November ‘25 - Match 17 in 25/26

Top Twenty for the Total Crowd: [4872]

A series of seriously close predictions which will do something to the Leaderboard scores.

Many congratulations to joint closest @bookertease and @Forestblue, an overestimate and an underestimate but both missing by only 12. We have joint Forecasters of the Week for the match in which we reach the League One top ten.

Congratulations to @wwfcblue and @Bayo who came close to the winning dozen.

Congratulations to a further ten Forecasters who were all within one hundred - @williwycombe; @Alexo; @Glenactico; @Erroll_Sims; @FromeBlue; @MFHBlue; @ChipsintheAdams @Commoner’; @DevC and @MindlessDrugHoover.

There were 25 predictions within 200 and 30 within 300,

Top Twenty One for the Away Crowd: [384]

Many congratulations to @Commoner who was closest with a single fif. Congratulations to @silverfox and @LDF who were the only others within 5% [19.1]

The table is for the top twenty one because of the tie for 20th place between @williwycombe and @DevC.

Top Twenty Two (!) for the Home Support: [Calculated 4488]

Take a look at this table and wonder at the wisdom.
Many congratulations to @FromeBlue who was closest with a single figure miss.

All the other 21 forecasters in the table were within one hundred. Never been done before so far as I can remember. Congratulations to everyone who makes an appearance in this historic table.

Collective Wisdom for this Match:

A serious overestimate of those attending from Lincolnshire, which led to a slight overestimate of the total crowd because we were very near to spot on with the home crowd when averaging our 36 predictions.

Why did we think more would come. @OxfordBlue has mentioned their succession of away games. The weather possibly also played a part, it was worse along the eastern side of the country before and during the day. We are quite a bit south of Lincoln but it didn’t stop raining all day here.
I checked again train travel from Lincoln after I had made my own prediction prediction and it was virtually impossible. Outward it was a local train to Nottingham and then a journey to London, anyone travelling back by train ran a real risk of missing the last actual train from Nottingham and having to use a replacement bus and get back to Lincoln around midnight.

Amazing that there were still £5 spaces on the Hillbottom Road industrial estate forecourts at 14.50.

Anyway Happy Predicting to all for the Rotherham away game next Saturday.
