Loan Players

It’s defo good news! I have been somewhat baffled by his omission under both Dodds and Duff, I think he has real promise, as I’ve mentioned before he was my MOM at Swansea away last year in the carabao.

Mid to late 80s they were on a par with ‘Col U Scum’ on the detest-o-meter. Never liked them. Never will.

They always seemed to beat us in the late 80’s, but I can’t really recall them being hated by many.

Irrational perhaps but then I doubt travelling 100s of miles every other Saturday to places like Barrow or Newport or Yeovil qualified as rational.

I recall one particular trip to the Huish being especially unpleasant. Aside from losing which we always seemed to do, the prospect of crowd violence was averted only by à metal fence and coppers. Yokel life being generally dull they liked à bit of a row. And,it being the 80s we had a few of our own who were only too happy to oblige given the opportunity.

To be fair, he’s been calling them that for literally decades

Just listened to Darcie’s interview with Nathan Lowe. What an impressive young man. Love the element of self criticism and confidence in his own ability when he refers to not having scored as many goals as he would have expected. Really hope he’ll be signed in the summer.

An excellent interview, in which he used quite a few multi-syllabic words, and phraseology that you don’t normally expect from footballers. Clearly an intelligent young man.

Does the fact that his parents travelled up to Huddersfield to watch him, indicate that he might be thinking of staying with us next season?

I believe his parents live in Cheshire making this a short trip for them.

Absolutely dreadful post

Absolutely dreadful post.

Most footballers are reasonably eloquent these days.

Unlike rugby players.

Rugby players who have been permanent captains on A Question of Sport: Cliff Morgan, Gareth Edwards, Bill Beaumont, Matt Dawson, Ugo Monye.

Only two footballers in the same period: Emlyn Hughes and Ally McCoist.

Rugby players who have been team captains on They Think It’s All Over: nil

Football players who have been team captains on They Think It’s All Over: Gary Lineker, David Seaman, Ian Wright

(I suspect that They Think It’s All Over might in retrospect be the worst TV show of all time)

I guess that’s one way to judge humanity

The next comparison in the series will be between those who have received the FIFA peace prize…
