Local schools

I’m certainly right about my lived experience @eric_plant but I bow to your pedantry and complete non-sensical cherry picking of my original post just so you can feel all high and mighty because I was talking about something completely different.

My original convo was about how, back then, Grammar schools could be as equally rough as non-grammar schools. I used the word ‘Comprehensive’ rather than secondary. I concede @Wellesbourne75 there are no schools with Wycombe that had ‘Comprehensive’ however, people decided to jump on that rather than the point I was trying to make - and that had NOTHING to do with ‘does Wycombe have comprehensive schools’/

Cressex was a Community school. From anyone outside of Wycombe who doesn’t understand the selection system, that is a Comprehensive type school. I was not compelled to go there, it was state funded and followed the national curriculum.

I checked with the school for you and RGS have their own entrance test. They do take children of different years as obviously there a number of families who leave, or move to, the area.

If it is of interest, they suggest you email admin@rgshw.com.

In this context I don’t think it’s pendantic to use the specific meaning of comprehensive as a school outside of a selective system.
