Luton down lol

It’s Luton. We don’t want Luton to do well.

Nobody but you suggested anything remotely like that.

Disappointed for Blooms, Rice’s meddling has been to the detriment of two clubs.

I can see a poisonous atmosphere amongst the Wycombe fans when we play Luton between the pro Bloomfield and anti Bloomfield lobby. Already been rows after the Orient game.

That’s a great post and an underrated aspect of this whole thing - how Rice has divided the fan base.

It would have been more honest to sack Blooms in the summer rather than telling him he was not wanted but waiting for a bad run for the fan optics.

Dan Rice is just poor at his job. He should leave and pursue other another career asap.

Bittersweet. On one hand it’s Luton so good. On the other hand it’s a shame to see Blooms in that situation.

At least he ended the season in alright form so might get a crack at it until Dec. He’s definitely not in as bad a situation as GA was at QPR

Ainsworth at QPR showed there’s a limitation on playing the underdog.

Once you get to a certain level of club you can’t pretend Rotherham at home is a terrifying ordeal to face.

Blooms has shown he can cut it at that level (not today, sadly for him).

Even if he leaves Luton he should get another chance due to the football his teams play.

I get he wasn’t happy and didn’t get on with Dan , players were upset he left and felt let down. Think he should have stayed to the end of the season if nothing else for the players and fans. Would have had a promotion under his belt can’t guarantee he will get that with Luton next season.

It went far beyond simply being unhappy. He was treated abominably.

What if he wouldn’t have got to the end of the season? He’s got a chance with a club with parachute payments, albeit had to go through a similar change of styles as to when he took over here, which made his job harder.

Maybe they gp up, maybe they don’t but he’s shown enough to deserve a shot next season.

Sorry, but much as we’d like it to be true promotion with WWFC wasn’t guaranteed.

MB had no obligation to stay as manager under the circumstances.

Has he shown enough? He joined in January and still didn’t save them. He is a young manager who still has a lot to learn. Many posters seem to think he’s the next Pep or Slot. I hope he is given time but not certain Luton will, especially if he starts badly.

Luton fans were calling him a miracle worker on their podcasts before today. Of course, fans can be fickle and disloyal, as Blooms well knows.

I suppose one consequence for us is that it’s unlikely Luton will be bidding £7m for Kone again.

In some ways this is the least worst outcome - Luton suffer successive relegations but Bloomfield still comes out of it smelling of roses.

They were singing “you’re not fit to wear the shirt” yesterday

I think Kone will still go to Luton albeit we won’t get £7m.
Luton will be nailed on for the title, they still have a few players that played in the Premier League, have money to burn with their parachute cash (so expect Stansfield like acquisitions) and most importantly for him they have Blooms. Additionally they can offer a huge increase in his salary which we couldn’t in any case match due to the financial regulations.

Why would he go to league 1 club apart from the Bloomfield connection i’m pretty sure there will be championship clubs interested .

He is young and knowhere near the finished article. Yes, Championship clubs will be interested, but he will not be a guaranteed starter so his career could stagnate.
Going to Luton will likely give him a League 1 title medal and Championship football the following season. He needs to be at a club that plays positive football and not end up at a club with a Dodds type ultra defensive manager/coach.

He will go 100% understand what you are saying but think there will be better options no guarantee luton will be promoted .
