pedantry alert: as much as I like the idea of a “McNeilly Boyd-Munce” (eccentric American millionaire perhaps), think you might have squished two players together there
Tough call
I thought they all played well but the stand outs for me were Grimmer, Norris & Anders.
In the end I went for Anders for that goal line clearance
Anders is our best defender by a mile and should be an automatic starter.
Oh balls. ![]()
I did it on the walk out of the ground.
I can’t edit it now. Fortunately I don’t think either were on for long enough to worry the poll today.
All superb but Henderson’s performance was the most consistent over 90 mins.
Henderson for me and I fully expected him to score his pen. He is a find.
Got to disagree. He missed near post header that lead to their first clear cut chance. Rushed into at least three challenges and got done easily, particularly when the forward dummied it and then got bailed out by Grimmer. He was in no man’s land a couple of times in the 2nd half as well. I do appreciate that the opponents were a huge step up to what we are used to as well.
However, he was magnificently positioned to clear that ball off the line so Kudos to him on that front.
If Allen is out for any length of time we will see if Hagelskaer is up to the task on a consistent basis. For me, at the minute, Allen is our most consistent center back.
I thought Taylor was superb tonight, barring yet again getting caught in possession. Grimmer was also very good.
Special shout out to Leahy who was neat and tidy, and did a great job in orchestrating the atmosphere and applauding players’ decisions (notably when Norris was kicking long!). He also had a word with Taylor when he nearly got caught out. Proper leaders’ performance.
Lots of players deserving of praise tonight but Henderson stood out for the whole 90. If Mullins had stayed on the pitch and replicated his first half I would have gone for him.
It’s pleasing to finally begin building a picture of where there is genuine quality in this very bloated squad.
This one is a difficult call for all the right reasons, so many stand out performances on a night to be proud of.
Giving it to Anders ![]()
