A true captains performance from Jack Grimmer tonight.
Honourable mentions to Fred, Harvie, Casey. CBM, Harris & Mullins in that order who all were decent tonight
Casey. Love him as a player.
Toss up between CBM and Casey, but went for Casey. I suspect he might actually be a double hard bastard.
Could we throw in the referee as a candidate for man of the match? That penalty decision was certainly one of the refereeing decisions of all time (not that I’m complaining too much, a goal’s a goal after all
)
I went for Junior as he was in the right place for the two errors that handed us two goals on a plate.
Casey. He was probably the best out there, and I’ve also had him as close second for 5+ games recently
Easy decision for me. Mike Duff. Those switches in players and approach wrestled the game in our favour. These are the unfashionable games everyone takes for granted in May. Let’s hope we still have something to play for by then…
Casey for me, he was really taking some knocks there tonight, Grimmer also.
Hope Anders is OK and that HT change was just a precaution.
Actually went for Woodrow because he made us play better when he was on
Jack for me. He just gives everything
Casey for me but that poor quality signing Woodrow was excellent yet again when he came on.
Captain Jack had another good game. If only that early Fink shot had gone in…
Casey. Excellent at anticipating where the danger is about to be.
I have never really “got” Cauley Woodrow but it was achingly obvious during the first half that Fred was having difficulty retaining the ball with all the doubling up on him. Woodrow’s introduction, occupying an extra defender and the more adventurous approach of Taylor Allen combined to put pressure on a Wigan defence which had been barely tested during the whole of the first half. Two excellent substitutions.
Anders Hagelskjaer copped a ball in the face towards half time and I think I heard mention on commentary of the crown Jewels also having been impacted. I don’t think there’s anything long term to be concerned about.
As he was a key contributor to the second half transformation I’m voting for Woodrow.
There was no real stand out as Fred has been in recent games. I went for Boyd-Munce who has got better and better with a longer run in the team
I think CBM is a good player. I do think hes maybe a bit far back, I reckon hes got a few goals in him from around the edge of the box. But doesn’t seem to be getting into those positions.
I had not seen this prior to my views. ( that i can remember anyway)
It was Casey’s (obviously cast iron) crown jewels that were impacted but he obviously ran it off. I was expecting him rather than Anders to be left in the dressing room with a strategically placed ice bag for the second half!
He walked out with an ice bag to his car so can only assume he was sat on it! I love him and always have done, proper old school no nonsense defender that can shift when he has too. His partnership is getting better and better. Allen ahead of Taylor in the order aswell. For me player of the season is a tough one so far.
Surely currently Fred by a country mile
