‘Trust the process’. ‘Believe in the group’. ‘The project is exciting’. ‘We’ve done some great work on the grass’. ‘When it clicks we’ll be a really good side’. ‘You can see what we’re trying to do’.
Blah, blah. I’d take a 1-0 off Leahy’s left shin.

Sam Lowry, Alex Lowry, it all fits.
It used to be when managers talked about stuff “in the building”, like “having goals in the building” that was bloody annoying.
But that little list of yours is properly rage inducing. Catch phrases for a bland generation.
Oh to go back to those glory days when Leahy accidentally put a cross in the top corner under the Bloomfield era. Where we’d just started to crappen up a bit, but were still going really well.
If we lose, I think we can officially say we are struggling. A nice warm night, a perfect pitch, modest opposition, it needs to start happening now.
I’ve got a good feeling about tonight.
Not because of Doddsy, or the team, but because I was having a jog through the high street and spotted the legend of Mark Rogers striding along.
Had a nice little chat to remind me what a great fella he is.
So a good feeling, let’s hope the current lot don’t ruin it!
It’s a really strange time.
If Mike has been selected to keep us bubbling under in League One, there’s no chance of him going…whatever the fanbase thinks or wants…but if the optics do get so bad they feel they have to jettison him…surely that means the project will be flawed.
If he’s here to get us up, things need to improve quickly in the winning department , at least I think, or we’ll be back to the drawing board come Christmas.
I’m not living in the past, I want him to succeed, but I must admit I’ve not had such low expectations going to games for a long time.
Fixtures this season don’t come much easier on paper than this one tonight. Time to put some points on the board.
For us or Exeter?
What do we think the starting line-up will be tonight?
We surely can’t have ever had such a low first half goal record under any other manager.
The only other manager i’ve ever seen with so few goals in first halfs was United under Van Gaal. Especially in home games.
How long was that run at the beginning of last season where we scored at least 2 a game? I’m sure it went into October.

Shhhh. It’s illegal to mention it.
When does the new manager bounce start?
Me, too. To be fair, Waddock always used to blather on about “the group”. Unfortunately not in a way which evoked Teenage Fanclub’s ‘The Concept’.
You jest, but part of the problem is that Dodds never had a honeymoon period. I often wonder where we’d be now if we’d beaten PNE in his first game.
After Preston he couldn’t have asked for an easier three fixtures than he got. And he managed five points, which wasn’t awful but also not great. And that’s the high point of his tenure so far.
Posted this on Doncaster thread…. Was meant for here!!
