aka ‘shit’
If Fink is 6’4 then I’m 6’5. I’m not actually 6’5 btw. Not even close.
Passed him in Wycombe. I’m 6’2 and he was shorter than me.
Surely we didn’t pay a million quid for him? I’m sure that was the reported fee.
If nothing else, an encouraging testament to the strength of our second string, and a couple of kids coming through.
Gregory in particular did one really positive forward run.
Good spells from Junior, Boyd-Munce and McNeilly. Lowry has been OK, and a decent goal, but has shown the same inconsistency as I’ve seen from him before, can look great in attack but isn’t necessarily that well-rounded as a player.
I’ve just had to check the photo from the player sponsor event. I’m bang on 6’ and he’s comfortably taller than me so 6’4 is believable.
I thought Westergaard looked excellent in that half.
Hoping to see Cam Stones on for Fink at some stage.
I guess I’m watching without my contact lenses in again. I think Quitirna and Lowry have been our best players and Westergaard has flattered to deceive. Not impressed with any of our back four. Moore looks reliable, albeit very small sample size where he’s barely been tested. Very comfortable so far.
actually yes, he’s been good too, though I don’t know how strong Gillingham’s team is in terms of a point of comparison.
On the Gillingham forum they’re surprised their player Akomeah wasn’t sent off for a second yellow…
I think there’s some harsh comments on Fink. Sure he hasn’t set the world alight - and there was a big fee for him (apparently) but I think there’s a couple of things we should take into account:
- The relative lack of men’s football he has had in his career thus far. He’s still a kid (in footballing experience terms).Edit: having said that he has had a couple of seasons in the Swiss and Belgian leagues.
- Getting used a new country. Sometimes even the best players in the world struggle when moving to a new country.
I found the comment by Duff at the weekend saying something along the lines of that they are working with Fink. I think there’s is something in there and some coaching and time it will come out.
Anders took along time to look good and he is beginning to look like he could be one of our better defenders, so let’s not rule Fink out too quickly.
Although it would be peak Gasroom to completely turn on the player the Gasroom has sponsored.
Only watched the last 20mins or so, but Westergaard has certainly caught the eye along with Quiturna. Played some very decent football, should have more than 1
Interestingly the Gillingham commentry have picked out Westergaard as our best player and the one who is the “midfield engine making things happen” for us.
I’ll have to focus a bit more on him then. Wasn’t my impression.
Jack Matton is reminiscent of a young Roger Johnson. Thin as a rake and all legs but nodding everything away that’s coming anywhere near their forwards.
I think maybe some critics (but certainly not all) almost want him to fail because it vindicates the anti you know who sentiment.
I wouldn’t go that far.
I would go as far as Big fee = Big expectations. Rightly or wrongly. .
But if a let off there with Gills hitting the post.
I really would love to see Fink succeed, he does however at the moment look desperately short on confidence & seems 1/2 a yard short of pace/reaction time.
Our defence still hasn’t really clicked as a unit, individually they are all performing ok but collectively they aren’t at the races at the moment
