Politician I agree with. The rest do not not come up against the percieved need for loyalty by fans emotionally charged to levels of tribalism.
If Mo Salah applied and was sucsessful at getting a job at Man Utd he would be met by hostility upon his return to Anfield despite what he has given to Liverpool.This is not even debatable. Not many other “jobs” (other than a politician as you have suggested)arouse emotions like that of being a footballer moving to another club in the same division(especially a rival).
Not everyone will feel this,some will feel it but not express it, but to assume every football club does not have a measurable amount of fans that will elevate it to hostilaty is just naive.
It is not the same as just any other “job”.
I can only assume you’ve not encountered a Swiftie, nor a royalist, reality TV superfan, Musk devotee nor a social media user under 25!

I think you get my point all the same.Maybe there are a few jobs that promote these emotions but is just goes to show there are some jobs that are not just “jobs” when it comes to how they affect some people.

“Supporters” who openly diride an ex player need to grow up and get a life.
By means show appreciation for their services or just treat them as another opposition player
Nowadays with players changing club so regularly you end up spending your time stupidly booing half the players you would come across
Must be a better use of peoples time and effort

This is an view and not necessarily an incorrect one. What is a fact however is that to a lot of fans percieved loyalty is a thing and they are not very forgiving.It has always been this way and probably always will be for the reasons I give.
