Match Day Thread : Leyton Orient

Probably trying to work out what span of games is best to use when presenting stats showing how terrific we’ve been since Dan and Eduard appointed Dodds.

We can only dream of having a manager of the calibre of Nathan Jones.

xGumChewed per 90 through the roof, clearly the man for the job.

The criticism of Dodds is very harsh. He’s been thrust into a very difficult situation with a ridiculous number of signings that he had no say over. The players and coaching staff clearly gave their all and were shattered at the final whistle. If there’s anyone to blame, its clearly Rice who’s made a succession of poor decisions that have derailed our season.

the club still not releaed Mike Dross interview when BBc have released theirs…thst spraks.volumes.

0 points, 0 goals and 8 conceded in 5 games against the top 7 works for me.

And this time next week I’d be shocked if it’s not 0 points, 0 goals and 9 or 10 against.

And then after the playoffs still 0 goals from 8 games.

I’d imagine it will wait until after oaur fate is decided tonight

Dan Rice is an arrogant smuck c#nt. I want him out of my club

He will be here until the ricicles feel the same about him as you do

I agree it’s not his fault he’s out of his depth and that Rice deserves the blame for that.

But he’s clearly not up to the job, prefers to bore us to death ahead of try and win a game of football and needs to be put out of his misery.

Why not give a manager that wants to attack and entertain occasionally a full pre-season rather than inevitably have to sack Dodds in October anyway, thus wasting the summer and having to write off next season as well?

Can we wait until after our playoff campaign to start calling for people’s heads. Be careful what you wish for.

To the game itself, I don’t want to criticise the players. They look to me to be giving it their absolute all, and their celebrations after the 2nd goal at Bolton shows what it means to them to succeed this season.

Taylor was excellent today, Scowen too but I’d be amazed if he can play before a play off final if we even managed to get there. Simons did well, I think it was his most mature performance for us. We absolutely had to keep him on the pitch after we lost Scowen. Udoh ran his socks off too and I really love watching the guy in a Wycombe shirt. Kone smacks of a striker desperate to score and then everything COULD change for him. If Wrexham go up today then I’d rest as many as possible against Stockport in the hope the lads - in particular Kone - can reinvigorate themselves, because we will never win the playoffs if they can’t.

It’s all on Dodds. Credit to his selection and the start we made, we played well until the game changing moment of losing Scowen. But, he has absolutely no idea how to change things once behind against a half decent team who have something to play for. Not even a change of shape, just 2 new wing backs in McCleary and Reach who I suspect were coming on regardless of the score at the time.

He’ll learn one day that 3 centre backs doesn’t win things in league 1 unless you are a well oiled machine full of experience but we are not that.

Sadly he is out of his depth, and I actually wouldn’t be surprised if he is fired this weekend with Grace and Vokes put in charge. Yes the club wants the academy but it also wants to attract players and no attacking player would enjoy these tactics, one CB is on loan and should be in the championship and another will be off on a free to the championship in the summer and the keeper probably doesn’t want to be here now. All the new permanent signings must be thinking ‘what have I done coming here’ as none of them play for us.

This might actually give Rice a little bit of my respect back if he did pull the trigger.

Additionally, the social media silence is deafening to my ears.

A coach is exactlty what we got. Develops players ( although this in itself is quesionable). Who exactly has he developed? vs. a manager who focuses on outcomes. Sad really

Good post. Sacking him now is surely the only sensible call so that whoever comes in (even if Grace/Vokes) have maximum possible time to prepare for play-offs.

Personally I’d either give our players a week off or send them to Majorca for a week on holiday picking the academy side for Stockport. At least Wrexham winning today can allow us to do that.

F#ck me it gets worse!!!

Wrexham 2 up and now we will get Charlton in the play offs :sob::sob::sob::sob:

I don’t like blaming Dodds either, especially given my dislike of Rice, but the only time he’s seemingly made tactical changes during a game that have improved us was against Birmingham when we went down to ten. I’m losing faith that he’s got what it takes.

We should have kept Sam Grace in the job. Replacing a coach who bleeds light and dark blue with a coach who doesn’t hasn’t worked out well. At the very least if it all went tits up we’d be sad for the guy.
