Match Day Thread : Stevenage

That banner was used to great effect to help shield the unfortunate Wrexham fan who suffered a cardiac arrest the other week.
Not sure the wording was appropriate though in that situation ! but it did its job and glad the fella is making a full recovery.

Resting Kone would be madness!

Save a missed penalty he single handedly beat Stevenage away.

At the last Trust meeting, Trevor Stroud said that the wording was not not appropriate for the situationn, so they will get one made without words, for any future medical emergencies.

Could possibly be a back four today even if we are unchanged. I’d imagine five is more likely, but we’ll see. It’ll have to be quite fluid against a low block regardless.

Not sure I see that as a defensive line up. Good result Tuesday let’s build on that COYB

Mad gum chewing right from the off.

Shit just got real.

There’s already some comedy refereeing in the Wrexham game, so I think we can safely assume they’ll be getting three points today.

Apparently Stevenage have scored 2nd least number of away goals in league 1 but 4th best away defence which is pretty impressive. Seem happy to commit numbers against us so a good game in store especially if we can score first

leahy is a massice weak link…so poor and should no where near 1st team

We need to stop playing down to the level of some of these teams, what are we doing?

Extraordinarily negative. Scowen and Humphreys camped out in their own half. Long ball rubbish to no one in particular. Wingers as deep as the Atlantic.

Natives getting restless.

The sides that do well in the EFL are ones that play on the front foot and generate chance variation. That’s because the difference in quality in EFL is negligible between top sides and bottom sides. Our forwards are quality. We’ve shown during Bloomfield’s reign that we can outscore and outchance opposition. Why are we now trying to be Burnley. Burnley are a rarity in the EFL - most of their players could play in Europe. Most of ours couldn’t. Play to our strengths. Generate chance variance. Quite frustrating watching games each week that will clearly only have 1-2 goals max in them.

Harvie, Rav and even Pat Butcher are looking like superstars at the moment. Even having lost the Lyle Taylor haircut, Kone’s still playing like him. Fans very restive.

No press no urgency
