- Berks and Bucks County Cup
- Sunday 19th October
- 14:00 kick off
- Newport Pagnell Town Football Club, Willen Road, MK16 0DF
Newport Pagnell Town Women re-formed in 2022-23, immediately winning tier 9 Thames Valley Counties D3N and were promoted to tier 6 East Midlands Regional D1S, where they have remained since. Last season they finished third, ten points behind the champions Wellingborough Town.
Last season they had an extraordinary run in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup run, starting off in the First Round with that amazing turnaround at Willen Road against the Chairgirls, coming from 3-1 down to win 4-3. Kayla Potter (2) and Amy Leach were the Chairgirls’ scorers that day. The Swans then won 1-0 at Ascot United, 2-0 at Chesham United before losing 3-1 to Maidenhead in the final at Beaconsfield. They also made it to the FA Cup First Round, coming through three qualifiers before losing 3-0 at Royston Town.
This season the Swans have won two and lost one in the league. In the FA Cup, they went out in the 2QR with a 6-0 home defeat to tier 5 Stevenage. Last Sunday they beat Gainsborough Trinity 5-1 at home in the league cup, highlights here: https://youtu.be/YIfkVMJfewY?si=1DzgHwqRFoNResvP. Two of their goals came from corners, the others from fast, skillful play from their strikers. The pitch is well grassed but looks a little bobbly.
This season Chloe Martin has six goals, new signing Cesca Partridge has five. Tricky No. 10 Jasmine Spence is a particular threat. The Chairgirls and the Swans met in the Sponsors Cup this season, a 5-2 home win at Burnham, scorers in that match were not disclosed.
The Swans women attract three figure crowds, it should be a good atmosphere for my first visit to Willen Road!

Are NP the same tier as W3?
I think W3 are in the fifth tier, so one above NPT
Opening 15 played mostly in NPT half, one clear chance, a Melton shot off target.
45’, NPT 0-1 WW, scramble from a Hennessy corner, Hill got the last touch.
HT NPT 0-1 WW. We turned up the pressure last 15 before HT, their keeper made 3 very good saves, two from Hill, other from Hennessy. The resulting corner led to the goal, Hill given the goal. We had other half chances. Courlander has only been called on once, tipping away a shot bound for the top corner. The resulting corner saw a shot blocked on the line. Mulvaney in midfield is everywhere winning balls.
Less doubt about who scored the second!
47’ NPT 0-2, great shot from edge of area into top corner, scorer TBC!
Edit - Hill with her second!
50’, Swans keeper made a great point blank save, resulting rebound shot hit the post, then keeper made another good save. Swans then went down the other end and a shot clipped the top of the crossbar.
Edit - Melton with the first shot, Beaver with the second.
70’, Swans cross hit the crossbar and back into play. Before tgat their keeper made a good save from Watkins. Still 0-2.
FT NPT 0-2 WW. A deserved win, in control after the break, our keeper was only tested once all game, our defence gave their strikers very little. Their back four and keeper were very good, our front three didn’t have the space they normally have. The Swans are a good side, they would be comfortable in our division. About 70 watching
The other B & B results today.
Beaconsfield Town 0-2 New Bradwell St Peter
Penn & Tylers Green 2-1 Slough Town
Woodley United v Tilehurst Panthers result still to come in.
Keeper POTM, pulled off some great stops. Won’t be many defences this season to keep out that front three.
In fact, the first team this season to stop the front three from scoring, that takes some doing.
Woodley United have been awarded a walkover win against Tilehurst Panthers.
Newport goals. Goals are no longer being posted on YouTube.
Six minutes of extended match highlights, courtesy of the Newport Pagnell Town media team. Their keeper did make some really good saves, in particular a point blank one from Chloe Melton after the defence was caught out playing out from the back.
Like W3, they use the Veo camera system, backed up with a manual camera for close-ups. You can see the W3 Veo on the halfway line. Everyone uses these automated systems now, which follows the play and allows for better coaching analysis. My only criticism is that it’s nice and bright when the sun is out but rather dark when overcast. I would hope it could compensate for gloomy conditions.
Thanks for posting. Their keeper looks one to follow. Some outstanding saves
