It’s back to the league at Sholing, the competition which matters the most. In the reverse fixture in September, the Chairgirls were two up within seven minutes, a Beaver header and a Melton penalty, after Potter was brought down by their keeper, were added to by a looping 30 yard shot by Hoesli-Atkins for a 3-0 half-time lead. Sholing pulled one back on 65’ but Potter had a simple tap-in four minutes later, for a 4-1 win. Last season’s game at Sholing finished 0-0, one of only two league games the Chairgirls failed to score in.

This season Sholing have won three and lost nine in the league. Those wins came against bottom half teams but they have had some narrow defeats against top-half teams, by one goal against Portchester and Reading, twice by two goals against Southampton Women, in league and league cup. In the FA Cup they only lost on penalties at the Flyers after a 2-2 draw. Last time out, two weeks ago, they lost 4-0 at tier 3 AFC Bournemouth in the county cup. They have only played two league games in the past two months, a 3-1 win against Oxford City and 3-5 defeat against Beaconsfield Town, both at home. Top scorer in the league is Sophie Lee, with 9 from 12. In the summer a new 3G pitch was installed at their home ground.

We’ve had to restart the stream, it should be back live in a few minutes

…and it should be back live again

Bit of a low view today.

A nice close-up of Carl repositioning Veo on the gantry, better view now!

Opening 20 even, no goals, both teams have had promising openings. Axe had to rush out smartish to get to the ball first, Sholing had a long range shot just wide. Potter had a chance with a header, put wide, and she also rounded the keeper but angle too wide for the shot.

21’, S 0-1 WW, header, scorer TBC!

Edit - no Twitter updates from W3 today.

30’, S 0-2 WW, close-in shot from a corner, think it was Potter.

43’, S 0-3 WW, poked in from a few yards out, might be Potter again, or Watkins.

45+1, S 0-4, WW, forced in at the far post from a cross, I’m plumping for Watkins.

HT Sholing 0-4 WW. In firm control once the first goal went in. A Jordi 30 yarder went into the keeper’s arms, Melton hit a long ranger over the top.

I’m struggling with the picture quality at times, not sure if that is the bandwidth or low light, it’s a gloomy, rainy, day. If anyone watching can identify the scorers, let us know!

52’, Melton booked for who knows what.

Axe had been tested a couple of times this half, two good saves low down.

62’, 0-5, think it was Watkins getting on the end of a long ball into the box.

Sholing player yellow carded for late challenge on Watkins.

68’, 0-6, shot just inside the area, Melton?
