Mike Dodds Stats

Forget the cartel I want to be Royalty.

And that’s an entirely fair comment, and why we all have opinions.

And that’s what I love about the Gas Room, it’s about as far from an ‘Echo chamber’ you could possibly get

Fair point. But a group of unknowns once started chanting ‘oh Jeremy Corbyn’ at me in a pub when I was sporting a grey beard. I thought it was funny.

Look at the stick Gaz gets every week from opposition fans - genuinely offensive term applied to him. Not saying I agree or that it matters, but the stick given by Wycombe fans is tame stuff.

Anyway, as he’s said him self, Mike Dodds had a thick skin.

No, he just said it was a strange combo with the training top and laughed. Has that lowered the prickometer?

Light jibes about a pair of trousers are ok with me. Calling people pricks is far more abusive.

Haha - I’m ashamed to say I can’t recall the ‘piss-stained chinos’ poster’s name. He was the one threatened with legal action by Bargey wasn’t he?

I should make clear I couldn’t care less about Doddsy’s trousers, so will shut up about them now.

We are playing some incredible football? Are we really? Even the good bits are spotty but we aren’t an exciting team at all. Absolutely agree with Erics comments about trousers and gum but there’s no need to sugarcoat how we’ve been playing, if we zipped the ball around like prime Ajax we’d be in mid table probably moaning about not being top.

Back to ”The Life of Brian” again…

The ‘wrong trousers’ stuff is just throwaway, don’t think anyone’s really taking that seriously. It’s the bloody ‘management speak’ that makes me doubt the whole ‘journey’ or whatever they call it. Maybe I should just stop listening to interviews etc.

p.s. I hope people will give Fink a chance to settle in when he gets fit and not expect everything to suddenly click as soon as he gets on the pitch..

Definitely. But this means we’re probably another 4 to 5 games away from reasonably being able to expect hitting our stride. At what point does a bad start become a bad season?

Maybe poor old Eric has a pair of waz-stained cargo pants that he thought were going to come back into fashion? Get a grip bores - It’s purely gentle ribbing about a fashion faux-pas rather than a full character assassination !!

Second, behind Cardiff.

I’ve had enough of watching Dodds being interviewed as he just comes out with word salad that means nothing at all,he will never accept the blame for anything he’d rather blame the players but it’s his tactics and team selections are the reason why we are struggling.

I feel better already.

It won’t be on Fink even if he doesn’t deliver, he’s a bit of a punt as all overseas prospects are, It’s not his fault he’s the only centre forward at the club.

Bit harsh on Udoh maybe but he’s only ever been too deep or out wide since Dodds arrived .

I agree with @petef1 but I’d have said, ‘when we get the ball, and have the inclination to move it forward we’ve scored some lovely goals.’ Tuesdays and both against Reading for example.

The problem is that we don’t have the ball and/or the inclination enough.

It can’t be helping that we are fourth here too …

In fairness I’m guilty of this and I take your point. I couldn’t stand the gum chewing thing and would call anyone out on it doing it to my face to be frank as it was disgusting but someone clearly had a word with him as it appears to have stopped.

That said, I think he seems in complete denial about the seriousness of our position, gives off the visual and verbal impression of someone who is far more sure of themselves in their professionally paid role than their record in said role would actually suggest they should be and based on football match results I don’t believe he will succeed in the long term with Wycombe.

He’ll win some games here and there but attendances will be dwindling by Christmas.

Stevenage will provide just the kind of test that will show if Doddsball is going to have any future in this division. Any misplaced passes or mistakes playing out from the back will be seized on and ruthlessly punished. Unless we can match their physical approach and press we will be going backwards all over the place. However if we can bypass their press at speed with accurate vertical passes, we can get some overloads going. I’m guessing that this is what Doddsball is, but I might be wrong about that. Stevenage are a strong L1 team and probably won’t care about The Project™️

Yep I’m totally on board with that. Dodds doesn’t escape any criticism from me for being out-of-his-depth, a poor leader and given his unconvincing media interviews, I think there remains some very serious doubts about whether he’s capable of getting his ideas across to the players. Anyone deciding to take on manager / head coach roles at football clubs does so knowing they put themselves firmly in the line of fire from fans if they’re dissatisfied, justly or unjustly. If they can’t handle that pressure this is not the job for them. The line I personally draw is when the attacks are for personal idiosyncrasies that are not directly related to performances.

Having said that, I think criticism of those horrible trousers is perfectly justified. They really were vile.

I’ll be happy if the performances aren’t pants :jeans:#

p.s. I once saw Sm**h wearing shorts, that was infinitely worse than anything….
