Given Bloomfield’s public comments, entirely plausible.
It’s all a bit like Hot Fuzz, Auntie Jackie’s sister’s brother’s boy..
Someone once remarked to me about a new colleague that ‘her sister lives next door to Robert Lindsay’s mum’s dog groomer’.
Bloomfield and Rice clearly fell out. Rice didn’t want Bloomfield as manager. It’s clear that Bloomfield would be interested in a return despite the crap that was thrown at him last time (maybe experiences elsewhere have taught him that other owners/execs are rubbish to work with too). Ordinarily you would say that Rice would not want to employ him again. However it is difficult to know what Rice actually wants and with numerous changes in strategy it wouldn’t actually surprise me to see Bloomfield return although still think it’s unlikely.
You barely hear anything from Rice, think that’s part of the problem. I don’t want Couhig levels, but maybe a one or two interviews now and again would suffice. Just so we know what’s going on.
I dunno. Nearly everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie anyway so we wouldn’t learn much.
Again, like being fine with 3 at the back. Im not really sure i feel the need to hear from the chairman of the club.
I only saw this now. I suppose my reputation as a German-language pedant has gone before me yet again.
In der Tat is presumably what you meant. I dread to think what you wrote could possibly be referring to, or how it relates to our longest search for a manager since Lawrence Sanchez of Charvil was finally appointed after various knockbacks to offers to succeed Neil Smillie in 1999.
What’s a couple of weeks between friends? I’ll tell you what - a struggle to remember the context!
I suspect I was replying in the usual jocular fashion to one of @Bayo ’s well meaning mickey-taking posts.
Here’s the post from Bayo. I’d got tired of all the (to me) pointless speculation about potential successors to Michael Duff and I suggested putting predictions aside for the time being. His rather strange response seemed unworthy of anything but an equally strange reaction. So, instead of saying “how indeed”, I decided to answer in German. As it’s at least 70 years since I passed my German ‘A’ level I struggled to get it right (although the r in tart was deliberate).
Es ist Zeit die Bohnen auf Toast fertog zu machen.
Yer what?
Simples - Time for Beans on Toast
Time to make the beans on toast?
Whoops! Hadn’t seen @Bluetoo’s attempt.
Tom Hounsell nominated for manager of the month. Hope he doesn’t win it especially as we have never beaten Luton at Adam’s Park. We need all the luck that we can get, not the dreaded motm jinx.
Doesn’t qualify as he is only interim Head Coach!
God that is a depressing statistic.
What’s interesting is that no one has any idea what team we’ll start with, what formation we’ll play or even if we’ll be able to put in a competitive display. Will our goalkeeper chuck one in, will our centre backs offer up soft chances, will our midfield get dominated? Every match brings something new. How exciting.
For the next game?
Id expext Hazard in goal.
A back 3 - Cook in the middle with 2 out of Anders, Casey or Taylor.
I still expect Fred at RWB and Harvie Left.
3 out if the 4 midfielders.
Woodrow and Wareham.
We may play Parker and move Fred up front.
We will try and play out from the back and push the wing backs on to give support.
Its sort of what we have been playing under TH in the league.
If anything its been pretty consistent, or I nay have missed sonething.
