Not sure the dotty d blue quarters work with the solid blue shorts. Or so my fashion conscious daughter tells me.
I’m looking forward to returning to The Jonny Rock on Saturday btw. Think we will see a line up closer to the season starting XI.
I’ve no idea what or who The Johnny Rock is. All I do know is that everything I’ve been seeing and reading on here over the last couple of weeks leads me ineffably towards a feeling that this summer of discontent is highly unlikely to transmogrify into a glorious autumn or winter - sons of York notwithstanding! And any inferred disrespect for King Richard unintended.
With apologies to the Bard for disgraceful plagiarism.
Seems Whaddon Road - The home of Cheltenham Town is now named the EV Charger Point Stadium - even The Bard couldn’t turn that into memorable prose
wonder if we’ll take the lead?
Exactly .Plus we were a scalp to them so they would also have raised their game.
Shocking.
That seems a bit of a stretch. Although, I suppose it’s just like we raised our game against Brigh… oh.
Bakinsons new team Leyton Orient put 10 past the home side Welling utd without reply yesterday in a pre season friendly.
I bet he was thinking “this is more like it!!”
Sweet Jesus
that was our very first run out with multiple players not having played with each other before. Just drop it man . Tell me you told me so 5 games into the season . Trying to do so now is just nuts. I put it to you that you are allowing emotion drive your thinking on this . Take a chill pill.
On the last game of a very successful pre season in the mid 90s I remember us beating a top flight Southampton (inc Matt Le Tissier) 3-2 at Adams park . The football was amazing , we looked like Barcelona . I remember walking away from the ground dreaming of the autos . We then got 1 pt from out first five games and I vowed never to look into pre season again as any indication as to how we will do in the season proper. Stevenage lost 6-0 to QPR last week after a strong finish to last season . They will likely finish mid table again . I wonder what their fans thought after that result ?
Cnut is actually a complement as he was a very successful viking .

So what have we learned about this week on the Gas Room?
-
Don’t play premier league opposition in friendlies or anyone from the National League
-
Our new shirt looks exactly like last seasons when the players are wearing it
-
Don’t want no short, short man - especially at centre back (credit Gillette, whoever she was for that 90’s classic)
-
@kim_il_swan is praying for WW3

Been quite a week!
I have everything crossed Dan Harvie will be fit for Bradford, because he’s so paramount to our attacking width on the left; as well as being the best LB in the league and can score goals, drawing the opposition towards him which then free’s up GMac/Fred and now Quitirna on the right flank.
We were really spoilt when we had Harvie/Morley/Humphreys in the same team.
Does anyone have any updates on Dan?
Cheltenham tomorrow; I will be waiting with baited breath to see if he makes the team sheet tomorrow.
I know they said he’s ‘close’ but still on a revised training agenda. If that is the case, I still fear for him not being ready for match week 1.
Wanderers continue their pre-season schedule with a trip west to League 2 side Cheltenham Town on Saturday, having taken on Brighton last weekend and Sutton in midweek.
There will be no live stream available for the game but match updates will be available across the club’s social media.
The Chairboys will play in their new home strip, with the goalkeeper wearing pink. Though Kone will insist on wearing the green and white strip for NO REASON AT ALL.
Can’t make the game today and was just wondering if the game would be on Wycombe Sound or anything…probably not I’m guessing but will have a scan at 3pm on the FM to see.
First-half XI: George, Henderson, Hagelskjær, Hartridge, Back, Junior, Kone, Boyd-Munce, Berry, Westergaard, Skura.
Subs: Norris, Udoh, Lowry, Grimmer, Tilley, Harvie, Casey, Allen, Mullins, Leahy, Onyedinma, Bartolo, Cole, Trialist.
Harvie!!!
Back 4 again then, I assumed we would be playing a 3/5 at the back system. Harvie back in the squad is brilliant news.
