How do you know the terms of the contract? It could be…

  • Rolling contract
  • less money
  • 2nd choice keeper
  • Pay as you play
  • Release clause

Just because he has been offered a contract it does not mean it is one that he will accept. For all his faults he is still in the top 50% in league one so would be a great second choice and offers experience to any keeper that might come in, should he have no offers to go elsewhere.

I obviously don’t know the details of the contract offer. My view is simply that we shouldn’t keep Norris on as our #1 next season, whatever the terms. I’d strongly disagree that he is in the top 50% of L1 goalkeepers based on his performances this season. And if MvS is under contract next season I’d much rather have him as second choice keeper - he has greater potential improvement than Norris.

Whatever he is he seemingly isn’t the right fit for our club.

As much as I am appalled in the way some fans have treated him,his personality doesn’t fit in and he has made many mistakes.

Christ almighty… There not children, you realise these are fully grown men that dont support wycombe? It’s a job nothing more. If I was offered a guaranteed income with more money from a rival company I’d go, id imagine most would.

The info is so vague. Wycombe could have just offered him £100 a week contract as a favour (ie that raises his bargaining power elsewhere). I really cannot understand how it can be a genuine contract offer given his impact on the season and performances as a whole.

Companies rarely have fans and a community who treat is as part of their DNA,their tribe, fans who consider their football club as their “church” . Fans who get so emotionally attached that they see a rival club as a different tribe and fans who consider an employees loyalty as an important trait.

If you think it is childish you do not understand football fans at all. Rivalry between fan bases most certainly extends to how much loyalty players show. Not all fans get strung up about this ( clearly not yourself ) and that’s fine but many do and it is what makes football fans different to fans of many other sports.

Personally I would not respect Fred if he went to a local rival. I wouldn’t lose sleep over it ,but I wouldn’t be condescending to those who who did. I would also fully understand how they felt.

Football brings the tribal instict out in many fans , you only have to look at the hysteria on here at times.

Children they ain’t.

I’m a Sony fanboy. An experience best summed up in this video.

What are these stats actually showing? Number of costly mistakes per game or something else?

shows the kind of person you are …no loyalty like you…dont cut the hand that feeds comes to mind

Matches played, clean sheets total, clean sheets as a percentage of matches played.

Despite his howlers he’s 4th on the list % wise.

not good enough if we are aiming for promotion

The irony… you take digs at actual club legends at any given opportunity, yet hang out of the corporate twat whos torn the Dna of Wycombe wanderers apart.

The irony… you spend every Saturday slagging off our players and coach, then throw your toys out the pram when someone wants to move on

If you were to take Norris’ clean sheets up until both Anders and Casey got injured (10 in 24) he would be top of the list.

For half the season, he - and the defence in front of him - were statistically were among the very best in the league.

I’m not his biggest fan (just too many basic errors for my liking - don’t care about the ‘attitude’) but I can see why Dodds does appear to rate him.

But I think he does need a defence he trusts given the way we play

Not enough seemingly to offer him a contract at Oxford. Duff at Wycombe however…..

U21 & GK

  4. Van Sas

Subject to confirmation that you meant to say Duff (sausage fingers, predictive text and spellcheck are surely not involved), I’m intrigued to know what you have in mind when you say that you can see why Duff appears to rate him.

I think we should make a grab for Stevenage’s Filip Marschall.

If their contracts were to be renewed:

  1. Norris - GK
  2. Onyedinma - Over 21|Homegrown
  3. Vidigal - Over 21

I’m confused! What’s new?

How is “homegrown” defined, for goodness sake?
