A very sad state of affairs.
Yes very sad Prince but it’s what happens with a bad owner. Chansiri has had numerous opportunities to sell but just wouldn’t do it to the frustration of Owls fans and now this. Having seen ourselves at the Reebok going through this I can tell you it’s not nice and I can only hope and I’m sure there will, be a good owner to take over this massive and famous old club? The ground is in a poor state and it will take someone with deep pockets to rescue them but I can’t even imagine that not happening so sympathy and good luck to all Owls fans.
It a real shame to see a club of that size & history crumple as it has. Really poor ownership who just needs to write off his loses and get out of football ownership completely. I really hope someone is able to come in and turn that club around
At least this way they will get rid of Chansiri, though it will almost definitely mean relegation and possibly more pain in 26/27.
But it will at least clear their debts and hopefully recover as Derby have.
“There but for the grace of God go I.”
I hope Wednesday can recover and rise again - likeable club with generally likeable fans.
But the uncomfortable truth about so many of these situations is that fans cheer on these owners when they come in, promise the dream and spend large to achieve it. When the money, interest or patience runs out and results suffer, those same owners are villains. A fair few Wycombe fans pointed out as much when Derby and Reading fans did it but quickly began speculating on or salivating about the sort of players our new owner could splash out on.
As ever, be careful what you wish for.
It’s not if but when with our current owner, he has a plan or a goal, not sure I really know what that is ultimately but at some stage that goal will be met or it won’t be important to him anymore and the club will be sold or the funding will stop if he can’t find a suitable owner.
It’s the same for nearly every club unless you have an owner who has always been a fan of the club and even then it can turn sour. Derby being a prime case.
This is exactly it. For all the talk about independent regulators and stricter controls, a large part of the problem is supporters who demand clubs keep spending money they don’t have.
This is us in three years.
That long?
Sad this had to happen. Hopefully, this will be the start of a revival for SWFC and their fans, now that there will be new owners. Having been through the mill with bad owners (and still recovering from it), all I can say is “ Have faith (It is hard I know) start returning to the matches, back the players and staff as they have been going through all the ups and downs that you have, Good luck if any Owls are reading this.
Sad but not unexpected.
Let’s hope the Owls find a decent owner soon & that they involve the supporters trust in some way in the stewardship of the club.
Most owls fans seem to be resigned to relegation this season, but are arguing this is what is needed to allow them to rebuild
It would have been us a few years ago if it were not for the Couhigs and now the current owners.
It’s not so much a problem with supporters or individual owners and more that the fundamental financials of professional football are not sustainable.
Tbh football has been ruined in so many ways with this being one of them.
Its just a clear sign that Football is no longer a gme for the local people. Its all about money, owners taking risks every season & spending money they don’t have, in the hope of getting a payday from the delights of the Premier League.
However, I don’t know what powers this football regulator is going to have and if the EFL or FA will accept their ruling
