Sadlier is the only surprise there, I think. I’m happy with that, as he always seemed like he could do something, but never quite did it often enough. Reach seemed a competent utility man, who was thrust into his not-favoured position too regularly because of Harvie’s injury.
Shots friend was raving about Woodhouse, so hopefully he can go there permanently and make stuff happen.
Probably only 7 or so likely regular starters/challengers in the retained list. Not sure how many of those under contract would have been offered a new one if they weren’t so could see more outs.
We’d be absolutely moronic not to offer Bradley a year.
We’ve only listed that Joe Low as been offered a new contract so that we get compensation as he’s U-24. However, we know that Joe has no intention of signing a new deal.

I find it a shame to see some very good players released, but ultimately if it wasn’t work out for them then it’s for the best sadly.
I feel sorry for Sadlier as I think he still has things to offer the club. However, his injury record goes against him.
I’m surprised that Butcher still has a deal here, I half expected his deal to be expiring and that he’s playing for his future elsewhere. HOWEVER, I see Butcher as an excellent replacement for Scowen while he’s out injured (much prefer him to Bakinson at any rate!)
It looks like a fair few of the retained list will be looked at to moving them on. People like Tafazolli & Hartridge will be sold / released by mutual consent.
That being said, we only get compensation if Joe agrees a transfer / contract with a team BEFORE 1st July. After this date, he’s completely released from any of the power that the club has and we’ll get nothing for him.
Lubala on commentary at Rotherham gave me one of my favourite moments of the season. I reckon he may have burned his bridges there, but hoping he can get a good move elsewhere as he’s always seemed like a really decent lad.
