Do we really not have a dedicated Aaron Morley thread?

Oh well, we do now.

Here’s the latest from Steven Schumacher about what he wants from Aaron Morley.

“He [Aaron Morley] put two brilliant balls in and we had good numbers in the penalty box… from Aaron being on the pitch for, what, 25 minutes, he showed his quality. We could have had two goals from that quality but didn’t score one.

I know he has got that ability but Aaron will be the first to admit as well that he has got to show more. He probably hasn’t been at his very best this year but if he gets another chance to play then he has got to just keep showing the quality that he’s got.

Consistency, goals, assists, being brave, taking risks, we were talking about about not being safe with his passes, similar to what we said to Josh Sheehan.

Can you play forwards more, because his vision is unbelievable, and his quality to execute is normally pretty good.

I would like him to be better from set pieces. That probably hasn’t been where he has been at his strongest this year but he was excellent last year.

That hasn’t been to his standard, so if he plays, get it on the money, because he’s definitely got the tools to do so.”

Seriously now, we have just got to make this happen. And I don’t mean make it happen on 2nd February, make it happen tomorrow or over the next couple of days. Pay whatever it takes, this man will transform our team and will be a huge part of taking us to the Championship in 18 months time if we do.

With Henderson now being injured for presumably a month, if it’s a hamstring injury, I think we now need to make a move for Morley.

Scowen is probably a little way off yet and Abbot only just returned to the squad. CBM and Leahy basically the same player.

Our form without Henderson isn’t great, Morley is the nearest to him in the way they play.

That would give us a choice of two similar players in each of the three midfielder positions plus Mullins.
