Congratulations to my friend, Alan Russell
When he attends the Plymouth game on Saturday it will be a remarkable 40 years since he has missed a first team home game. The only games he has missed during that period were during COVID-19 when we were not allowed into the ground. Of course, he was in the stadium for the two championship games spectators were allowed to see live
His run started in August 1986, when he witnessed a 4-1 win over Windsor and Eton at Loakes Park in the Isthmian League.
The crowd was just 675 and of course Alan has witnessed a massive transformation in the club over those 40 years. Several promotions and epic runs in the FA Cup and league cup.
Alan, who is not a member of the gas room, has been following the chairboys since 1970 and goes to many of the away games as well.
Fantastic support from a lovely fella and he should be proud of his achievements and the club should be proud to have him as a devoted fan
Didn’t Dave Bassett have a long period where he never missed a 1st team fixture home or away for donkeys years ?
An incredible achievement. I like to consider myself a huge Wycombe fan but putting this achievement into perspective I have never even got close to seeing every game in a single season and don’t think I ever will!
I think he did 30 years.
Managed home and away in 86/87 season, in every competition. Even turned up at a five a side competition at Clarence Park that Wanderers had entered. Only to find they had pulled out overnight !!
This is sensational work!
Lovely story to read. Congratulations to him. What a fantastic story.
Huge congratulations to Alan Russell, that is an unbelievable achievement and I am sure he has been to many games when he was unwell or broken.
I hope the club pick this up and reward Alan with something special.
The club are aware it’s in their hands
I hope so, these type of things we have been very good at recognising in the past.
I have known Dave for 50 years Wycombe he has been a true fan for many seasons plus he has been a steward for a long time.
[to the best of my knowledge they are going to put something up on the big screen at halftime so watch out for that. Also, it is possible that James Richins from the Bucks free press will be doing something.quote=“wwfcblue, post:10, topic:987”]

Is that it?
Phil Catchpole would have been all over this.
Unfortunately, the current media output doesn’t seem to go much deeper than wandering around the car park asking people if they like the new kit.
The club are aware I’m not absolutely sure what they’re going to do, but they’re going to do something. Also, the local paper are aware again. I have contacted both and must leave it with them.
That is an absolutely amazing achievement. What a ride he has been on
