There was apparently quite a bit of all that after 1066. The Normans spent 1068 breaking Anglo-Saxon resistance. There was the siege of Exeter. The Northern Anglo Saxons Lords gave allegiance and a Norman Castle was started at York. Plans for castles were made for Huntingdon, Cambridge and Lincoln.

Hi @NewburyWanderer . That’s remarkable. I started to post my prediction a few hours ago, left it at “….in the…” pending a look after the evening meal to see if we’d be in the blue quarters and returned to it ten minutes ago without having looked at other predictions posted in the meantime.
