Thanks for all the updates @StevePeart.
Sounds like another character building evening for the young lads, against some semi-pros no doubt eager to test them.
Interesting interview with Ben Gladwin, referencing the âhostile atmosphereâ and abuse from beer swillers in the stands.
Some of Britwellâs finest decided to turn up then!
I donât know what the abuse consisted of but Captain Christian Swaby seemed to take a lot of it in the second half, playing as right back with the beer drinkers immediately beside him. He also had to contend with the lively Shyon Dennis. Christian did engage with them, maybe unwisely, but itâs all good experience.
I must say that although I heard some light-hearted, letâs call it âbanterâ, directed mainly at the linesman I didnât hear anything remotely approaching âabuseâ
Shame if it did happen. I was struck by what a friendly club it was to be honest
You could have been struck by something far worse.
There was plenty of back and forth between the âbeer drinkersâ and our keeper, Kyle Defraine, during the second half.
He certainly didnât cover himself in glory.
He got a bit testy at Penn as well and it only made a rod for his own back. All for a bit of character but heâll need to learn to handle these situations.
The best âkeepers all seem to have a bit of a screw loose.
Interestingly worded report on the B&B match!
Cam Stones continuing to impress, not least in clearing a Burnham shot off the goal line.
Koray Gurpinar comes across as a mature and sensible 17 year old (?) in the post match interview with Casey.
Iâm riddled with self doubt these days when it comes to remembering names. Obviously Dan Casey doesnât interview players but Casey sounded plausible as the first name for the young lady who interviews the players. I shall use the mnemonic of Bussell in future to remind me that itâs Darcie. Iâm not going near her surname!
âSEVENâ

Tonightâs 3rd Round results.
Abingdon United 3-2 Newport Pagnell Town (HT 1-2)
Winslow United 0-4 Maidenhead United (HT 0-2)
NPT were a goal down, and a man down, before going into the break 2-1 up. They held the lead with 10 men until 89â and conceded the winner, a penalty, on 90+1â. Attendance 155.
Chesham United v MK on 2 December completes the round.
I canât believe this, the B & B match against Bracknell Town will be on Tuesday 9 December at 7:45pm, the same night we are at home to Plymouth. We deserve an explanation for this.
It is an absolute disgrace. Either the Bracknell or the Plymouth game must be moved. There is no acceptable reason for the clash and this shouldnât be tolerated.
Itâs a home game for Bracknell and they normally play on a Tuesday.
They are already scheduled to play Tuesday 2nd December v Hungerford (H).
No-one wants to be playing midweek just before Christmas or between Christmas and New Year.
So realistically, to get the game played before mid January, itâs either the 9th or 16th of December - and Bracknell get to decide.l I suppose.
But WW have to agree to that date. They could simply say we need all the players at Adams Park on the Tuesday but would be happy to play it on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday.
So you suggest that we âflex our muscleâ and inconvenience the lower league club?
Weâve chosen to enter the competition with our academy players not the first team. There is no reason we canât play the game on 9th December.
Is it me, but I canât see what the problem is
