Berks & Bucks Senior Cup 2025-26

Err…..because fans might want to go to both games?

That’s disappointing I was hoping to go to both.

Bracknell will miss out on Wycombe attendees as the vast majority will be at AP which in turn will cost them £2-3000 of turnover at a guess.

But it’s Bracknell’s choice.

Absolutely. It’s not rock science. Either of our two games scheduled for that night need to be moved. That’s if you care one iota about your fans.

But mad that Bracknell would choose to play in front of a few dozen rather than a few hundred. Surely they realize they’re missing a huge payday.

You obviously don’t remember that back in the day the first team and the reserve team both played at the same time. Supporters then had a choice. They either travelled with the first team or watched the reserves play at Home.
We now have a first team and an academy and this is a direct result of that. Really, really don’t see what the problem is. People have a choice you will often see teams further up the football pyramid especially prem teams play on the same night as they’re under 21s.

The problem in my view is that too often these decisions are made without all the implications being thought through. All I know is this would never have happened when Keith Allen was WW Club Secretary. There are a not insignificant number of supporters who really want to see both games too. 200 extra admissions + food/drink is important to a club who groundshare elsewhere.

It’s not as though it’s a game on most supporters doorstep. I don’t know whether everybody knows they actually play in Sandhurst. When we played them in the same competition two years ago, I did go over being very local to the area there was but most about 50 Wickham supporters at the game.

No, it isn’t petrology.

Its Bracknells choice at the end of day and as a professional and senior club in the comp. we have agreed to play our youth team… so no player clash with our games…. Frustrating however for our fans that would have liked to attend both games…. And to the detriment of Bracknell getting a half decent gate recipt..

I wonder what number manager Bracknell will be on before we play them? They have already had 3 managers this season……

Looking at the rules, (yes I am that sad), it is actually the B+B Management Committees decision. Games are played on the date (which was 9th) they determine unless they agree to move it. I imagine they routinely do if both clubs request it but if either prefers that date, then that is the date. Bit surprising nonetheless.

The club will be saying more about this on their website shortly. Basically, the BBFA set a deadline of 9th December for when all matches have to be played, and the clubs couldn’t find a suitable alternative.

The B&B FA being inflexible? Really?

We want to play in the London Senior Cup!

I was at Chesham shouting that :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

On the website as well.

Extraordinary really. The BBFA’s intransigence will cost Bracknell thousands.

Would urge WWFC to try to establish an alternative solution ASAP even if it means switching Plymouth to Wednesday.
