Ladies and Gentleman, it’s that time again. Tickets on sale (for ST holders) tomorrow at 10.

Might need to move my 10am meeting tomorrow!

General sale on 23rd.

We’ve been given an allocation of 1167.

Absolutely ridiculous they are not on general sale from the off. The club need to rethink this ridiculous policy for games that are never going to sale out as it mucks about everyone including season ticket holders who have non season ticket holder family and friends who want to go.

Can’t see us taking more than 500.

Isn’t this something that’s in the Charter - if there is such a thing.

A window for ST holders before they go in general sale. Don’t deny we won’t sell out, but you either do it or you don’t & can’t pick which games to do it and which not as that’s then just a lottery match by match.

It’s as if there is some reward for ST holders to be able to buy tickets before the go in general sale. Some kind of gimmick I guess.

As far as I can remember it was something introduced by the Couhigs. It makes perfect sense for games that could sell out but no sense at all for the majority including Bradford.

Given the club use electronic ticketing at home, so we have the means; would be good to push on with that. Maybe a ‘not interested’ option for ST’s to push that ‘reserved’ ticket to general sale for away games?

Done with good intentions no doubt but agree it isn’t a benefit for season ticket holders if tickets are freely available as it only delays arrangements

I think we’ll fulfill the capacity. Number of reasons…

  • First game of the season
  • Exciting happenings with club and transfers
  • Leyton (A) and Charlton (A) were amazing atmospheres (appreciate there was a lot at stake)
  • We’re going up.

Personally, I can’t wait, bought my ticket today and another EFL ground for me to tick off and hopefully, the best curry I’ve ever had given where we are to celebrate 3 points and the proper beginning of the Dodds era.

The initial allocation or the full allocation?

Initial!

Please note Bradford’s ground is in a clear air zone along with the city centre, so check if you have to pay if driving.

Hope you don’t mind this Bfd fan visiting you but your guide is not very good or accurate. For food, google Darley Street market. It is quite near the ground. The pubs mentioned are ok but between Darley Street and the ground is North Parade; a short street with a number of away fan friendly bars.

Welcome @loz, on the ground knowledge to help people travelling is always appreciated. I’ve added in Darley Street market to the guide. Are there any specific bars you’d recommend in particular around North Parade?

Congratulations on getting out of League Two last season and welcome to the Gasroom.

We had a very poor end of season in 24/25 and only picked up 16 points in our last 10 games, Dodds our new manager struggled to find a winning system.

I see Bradford had an even worse end of season managing only 11 points from the last 10 games.

Both of us have recruited nine new players but brought in no loan players and released or sold more than we’ve brought in.

Where do you think you will finish this season and your prediction for Saturdays game.

All of the bars on North Parade apart from City Gent which only opens match days are fine. We actually go to Record bar which keeps getting Camra awards but the others are good; all get pretty busy.Nearly all footie fans are ordinary decent folk and it is always good to chat with visitors so I hope we see a few of you there.
Don’t know where we will finish. We know it won’t be easy for even though we will have a decent budget, we cannot compete with the likes of the 3 relegated sides, you, Hudders, Blackpool and 1 or 2 more. As an example, we have been signing 1st div players whilst Hudders have been signing Championship players. Most of us are optimistic and think we can finish between 14 and 19. First game of the season is notorious for crazy results so we live in hope though it looks as though we will already be going into the game with 5/6 injuries.

I thought you might appreciate a heads up on the best places to eat and drink - for those of you who are intending on having a few anyway! So, here’s my advice:

Arriving by bus or train (Bradford Interchange):

If you are arriving by bus or train and come into Bradford via the Interchange then I would suggest making the short walk from the station to City Park – easily found as it fronts on to City Hall. Just look for the tall clock tower in front of you as you leave the station. For cheap and cheerful there is the Turls Green (Westherspoons). However, you shouldn’t miss taking in Sunbridgewells – a subterranean complex of bars which is located behind the Turls Green (just go through the passage between Turls Green and Starbuks and you will see it straight ahead). These bars are about 20 minutes’ walk from the ground though, so keep that in mind.

There is some a lovely pizza place in there too!

From there – or alternatively – I would definitely recommend The Exchange Craft Beer House on Market Street. This is also perfectly located opposite The Broadway Shopping Centre, so a great choice for those driving and seeking safe and secure parking. There is also City Vaults, which is on the other side of the Wool Exchange – the building which Exchange Craft Beer House is in – on Hustlergate. When making your way towards the ground from here, then I would suggest heading up Bank Street / Darley Street and pop into Darley Street Market food hall on the third floor. A huge selection of street food vendors and also home to Northern Monk bar for a great selection of beers. You are about 15 mins from the ground from here. As you leave here, then carry on up Darley Street and make you way towards North Parade, which I cover in the next recommendation…

Best bars closest to the ground and Forster Sq. Train Station:

If you are short on time then you will need to be making your way towards Valley Parade, therefore I would recommend North Parade. A street full of independent bars and only a 10 minutes’ walk from the ground. Great beers and vibrant atmosphere on match days which welcomes away fans.

If you arrive at Forster Square station then North Parade is your best bet, but City Vaults and The Exchange Craft Beer House – referred to above – are not too far away either. Forster Square is the nearest train station to the ground as well.

Parking:

Parking is bit rubbish close to the ground; you may find the odd space down some of the nearby side streets. For cheap, pleasant and secure I would recommend parking at the Broadway Shopping Centre. If you park there then expect a 10 - 15 minutes’ walk to the ground. There is a food court in the Broadway and includes Subway, KFC, some independent food stalls along the main mall and a Chinese whose name I forget. Zizzi, Greggs, Pizza Express, and some other eateries are just outside.

Finally – enjoy the game, if not the result!

Thanks @JimmyBantam I’m actually staying over, so the one thing I’ve been looking forward to / expecting is a great curry. Any suggestions?

Looks like we’re stuffed for any of the new clobber for the Bradford game. Disappointing. The club shop is going to be mobbed for Stockport. Especially with the kids wanting their new Quarters with that £25 deal.

If you don’t mind vegetarian food and you can get to Prashad in Drighlington it’s well worth the short journey
