Bucks v Oxon on Sunday

With football finally put to bed until August we can concentrate on summer sports. This Sunday (18th) Bucks take on Oxfordshire in the National Counties 50 over competition. The match will be played at the lovely Tring Park cricket ground. Entry is a voluntary £2 with a programme (remember those?). A lovely day out in the Spring sunshine. 11am start.

Is Tring Park actually Hertfordshire? I remember going there to see Ian Botham play for Worcs against Northants in a Sunday League game many years ago.

It’s just in Hertfordshire but the surrounding villages to the South are in Bucks.

I think you’ll find that to the North, South & West of Tring is all Bucks! Only going East is still Herts

And providing Devon don’t beat Berkshire at the same time then a win would put Bucks in the quarter final for the first time for a very long time.
I’ll be there, although it’s disappointing that both of Bucks home games have been played at Tring rather than using two different grounds.

Bucks won the toss and put Oxon in, who made 160 all out in 46.2 overs. Max Uttley took 3-26 off 10 overs. The match started 30 minutes late due to wet bowler footholds after repairs yesterday.

Devon made 327-7 off 50 overs, so Bucks will have to win and score quickly, maybe by 20 overs or just over, and hope Berks win. Link to follow that match.

Bucks 163-2 off 26.4 and beat Oxon by eight wickets. Cam Hemp 78 off 78 balls, Aadi Sharma 67 n.o. off 69 balls.

Berks are 219 for 2 off 31, chasing 328.

Bucks have made it through to the quarter-finals on run rate, thanks to Berks winning by two wickets in Devon, with two balls to spare. Berks made 328-8 off 49.4 overs. Bucks now play group 4 winners Dorset, away on 1st June.
