Great interview and wonderful link to the legends of 2020.

True leadership there. It couldn’t have been easy finding the right words, but he did and he is an inspiration. Time to recapture the bloody mindedness of being the underdog! To paraphrase from a commentary when most of us were in south east London way back when…‘this Wycombe team will not lie down and die’…

That interview exuded future management material for me. He’s been a great leader and is a thoroughly top bloke off the pitch as well! Always got time to talk about life, football and Aberdeen!

You can never tell, but I agree that he definitely has the leadership attributes. Something that a fair few posters on here tend to gloss over when moping on about his inclusion in the starting XI.

Anyway, I’m sure he can’t wait for the day when the Drone Army start chanting about him being a c*** in relation to a loan signing or something.

I agree, although you never know what a player wants to do when the playing days are over I guess. He certainly has the attributes and his interviews remind me a lot of Matts when he was a player, we’ve been extremely lucky over the years with the passion our captains have shown.

It’s interesting that a few posters on here were claiming dismay and happiness was confined to the Gasroom and Facebook…‘I heard no boos…’ and yet the players have felt the need to address it after recent games and now before one of our biggest games of the season. I hope we underdog our way to Wembley again and this is also a valuable lesson for the management group for next season.
I hope this is MD’s Torquay moment and next season sees us fly whichever league we are in and sees him soar.

I would imagine posters “claimed” they heard no boos because they didn’t hear any boos

To be honest i think players interacting with fans on social media is a bad idea anyway. Jason Cousins wouldn’t have had Instagram.
