DODDS SACKED

After this thread, I reckon the Score Prediction thread is going to suddenly become very busy!

Be careful what you wish for has always been a good saying

Actually feel really sad that it’s ended this way, really liked Dodds and part of me thinks he would have turned things around….Best of luck Mike….top.guy but was always against it

Just like the death of a divisive American political figure, I’m not going to celebrate this, nor mourn it.

I’m sure Dodds is super relaxed still.

Weird to announce it today though.

I think Paulo di Canio will do a great job……

I’ve already asked. There will be no ā€œemergency podcastā€

This is the right decision and I’m glad we’ve made it quickly. There are obviously other issues at the club and other people who should also be under the microscope, but performances this season have been poor and there is no identity to this team. Those things fundamentally sit at the Manager’s door.

I wish it had worked out with MD though. He always seemed like a decent guy who has joined the club at a difficult time. He’s clearly a very well-regarded backroom coach so I’m sure he’ll be snapped up by someone else soon enough.

Wish Dodds all the best. Seemed like a nice bloke just out of his depth with an unrealistic way of playing league one football

While I wanted him gone, its clear he’s an excellent coach but he just needs a bit more time to build himself up to becoming another Head Coach in the future. He clearly has talent after working with the Bellinghams & Chris Rigg. I hope he finds a new job soon and is able to bounce back.

I’m guessing the odd timing of this means they’ve had a replacement lined up (or already in) for Saturday.

Well his sacking has done nothing to taint my loyalty.

Clearly a very talented guy who knows what he is talking about, not convinced he is ready to be a first team head coach. Hopefully he will find a job more suited to his abilities.

And hopefully we bring in an experienced manager.

Let the for and against arguments for Ainsworth commence.

Against is he wouldn’t touch it with a @bargepole

Why is it clear that he’s an excellent coach. I have seen nothing from Dodds to warrant that comment. I’m really glad he’s gone. Lacked credibility, very poor communicator and tactician. Out of his depth in all respects.

There is zero chance Gareth comes back so we can put that to bed early!

Let’s just hope we don’t end up looking back on the Dodds era in a years time and think ā€œMy God, it was better than thisā€ as we slump to the bottom of league 2.

feel sorry for him, the least of the issues. it wont happen but we need someone who is battle hardend to the rigours of l1,l2 as rice and stockwells recruitment in the main lacks it. I would be all over someone like grant mccann might not be shiney and new but pretty safe pair of hands at this level and decent style of play.

but who these lot will go for i have no idea, rice might choose himself

i wonder how much severance pay he got. he had three years left on his contract.

I think that we might have a new manager named by Saturday but I don’t think they’ll be in the dugout. They’ll prob be in the stand, watching the team and will takeover properly on Monday morning (unless they have been in position earlier this week?)
