Given that the match has been moved to Friday, I’d assumed it was being televised - as a glorious season opener along with the other fixtures that evening - and closing the Frank Adams Stand was a cynical ploy to pack out the Origin Stand and make it look better on TV.
Except it’s not being shown in the UK.
Opening the season with a Carabao Cup fixture is just another consequence of the World Cup.
I’m struggling to work up the enthusiasm to commit to going to watch. If others are like me then between the Family Stand and Origin Stand we’ll have plenty of space.

All league cup games are on Sky these days - brought in last season.
I hope you’re correct but the Sky Sports App doesn’t show it as such
They do indicate the match between Bristol City v Walsall the day before as on Sky Sports + though.

First chance to see Declan Skura in action. I doubt whether Bristol City will field many Championship regulars but the match should provide an interesting insight into his potential - not that we didn’t have some clear indications towards the end of last season of how cool, calm, comfortable and collected he looked on the ball and how well he read the game.
I’ve no idea, maybe a date hasn’t been set yet? But I’d expect w/c 12th October & w/c 9th November (but see my edit below).
Meanwhile tickets are available for all WWFC matches until 5th September, so far.

A coup de grass is completely unnecessary.
Sorted my tickets for the Origin stand last night. It’ll be good to see the first competitive team out on the pitch. 
Interesting to see the team tomorrow as you’d think this will be our first choice eleven for start of campaign.
Note: last season you could not make any guesses on Dodds’ first team from his friendly selections.
Just to see how close I am, I’m guessing the team tomorrow will be:

Very strange pricing of this fixture. Very strange choices of which stands to open. Very strange delay to putting the tickets on sale. Very strange lack of marketing.
All feels a bit weird.
But I’m excited for the football. The commercial operations are totally bizarre, but the pre-season football operations seem to be going well. Looking forward to it.

£15 for the last friendly felt high, so £14 for this feels good all of a sudden though!
Not sure why £14 not £15 though.
I cannot understand why a competitive game has the upper tier closed when it is open for a friendly the week before
