WWFC have around 25 home games a year, whereas The Swan has around 200 events on over a year.
I suspect they both bring in a very similar number of paying customers over the year.
I’m guessing here but would have thought the spend by theatre goers already in the town centre would have been far higher than footy fans.
It’s a shame we have no space within the town centre to build a stadium, though with ML’s money you could see him purchasing an existing business or land to build on.
At some stage the ownership group will want their own stadium away from AP, hopefully not miles from the town centre again or even worse miles from Wycombe!
The 246 seater stand on the show pitch is interesting, which will also have very good floodlights at 516 lux. If other sundry requirements are met, that would be good enough for the Chairgirls in current tier 4, not quite enough for tier 3, which needs 300 covered of which 150 is seated, but that just needs another small standing shelter elsewhere on the ground.
I have no wish to see W3 permanently housed in North Slough but it would be better than paying thousands to be in West Slough.
Presumably, you are referring to Burnham FC as “West Slough”. How very dare you! We are firmly in Bucks (about 1m from the boundary with Slough Borough).
Sorry @Thicketblue, I wondered if I would get some pushback on that, me making a not so clever point! Yes, Burnham is very much not Slough, however close it is.
2 things that have come to my mind reading all of this
The club or OG have learnt from their error at the Marlow Road training ground and have looked to get planning permission BEFORE they started work
It now makes sense that the new training ground facilities were put in temporary buildings so that they just need to disconnect the buildings & move them to the new site.
That is interesting. It looks as if only 3-4 of the existing 18 holes will reused in the new course design with new holes having to go north to south rather than east to west
