Force required to rip a football shirt

Do player’s up and down the UK Football Pyramid, always appear to want to go to ground at the mere tug of their shirt, only for the referee to wave play on, rather than scrap on with desire to get to the ball.

I’d sooner back a team who wants to run around and get to the ball with half a shirt on their back rather than some half hearted waif sparrows who fold because the opposition “touched them” giving up possession and positional advantage.

Desire to win will leave you with holes in your shirt!

Falling over will put your team, often or not, under pressure!

Surprised a team / player hasn’t used a shirt with weakened seems to highlight the shirt pulling. Stay on your feet but have the shirt literally pulled off your back!!

I can’t remember which tournament it was but Italy had a super stretchy shirt around 20 years ago that allowed the shirt pulling to be really obvious. I have a feeling they ripped rather more easily too.

If a foul was always awarded for shirt pulling, it would soon put an end to it.

We got a free kick for shirt pulling early on on Saturday and I said it was great to see a ref actually penalise it, but then he pretty much ignored all further instances of it.

If it was properly picked up on, Bayo would have won hundreds of penalties.

If they were brave enough to keep a hold of Bayo’s shirt they should have been been awarded with an assist!

American football shirts seem to stretch forever & seldom rip!
