Looks like he’s being tickled

Our loss as a coach is Gillingham’s gain.

Perhaps he was spotted dropping an iPad?

Rich’s post match interview at QPR is an absolute joy, think they were 7 down when he came on last week and he scored so he had no need to apologise for that but he looks so focused and happy and talks about how they needed to do it for the fans and how hard they worked in preparation.

Wanting to do it for the fans is why Rice wanted him gone.

Two poor errors from Nathan Bishop helped gift Bradford a 3-2 win over Wimbledon.

We didn’t see much of Bishop but I can’t say I was massively impressed by what I did see. Not that were in a great place ourselves goalkeeper-wise.

6 in 6 for Styche now. Scored the only goal in Banbury’s FA Cup win.

I’ve definitely seen Bishop play at least once, but probably not enough to really get a good idea of what he’s about.

That whole scenario of really holding out to get him on loan in the past seems a bit weird in retrospect though.

I know that the fortunes of a goalie can really hang on some serious “sliding doors” moments (eg Allsop being hellishly unlucky to be displaced by Stockdale) and the goalie who gets the best chance to demonstrate their talents is the one who plays with the crappest defence, but his career trajectory doesn’t indicate that he was worthy of particular hype.

We’ll see. Bishop was excellent in the Dons’ win over Barnley last week.

Former loan player Ashley Chambers scored for Carlton Town against Cleethorpes Town yesterday. Another former loanee, Nicky Walker played for Cleethorpes.

I just found out that Ian Stonebridge, formerly of this parish, is now Dr. Ian Stonebridge having “completed his PhD at Loughborough University in 2023, studying coach identity from a post-structural perspective.”

Err, me neither but sounds very Doddsian.

Plenty of ex-Blues in action in tonight’s games.

Hanlan just scored for Doncaster.

Bez and Jasper starting for Stevenage; goal for Bez.

Sonny and Reach in defence for Lincoln, goal and assist, respectively.

Hartridge starts for Burton.

Butcher starts for Salford.

Kodua for Luton.

Still no sign of Berry for Chesterfield, not sure what injury issue is with him.

Dale Taylor on the bench for Northern Ireland in their WC Qualifying opener in Luxembourg, live on BBC1 NI (channel 966 on Sky). I don’t pay much attention to international qualifiers but when did these campaigns become so condensed?! NI’s qualifying spans September-November? Presumably something to do with the impact of the Nations League.

It is on BBC3.
