Former WWFC Footballers

At least I’ve narrowed it down though …

Gillingham have really dropped off. Not sure how much Gaz’s absence hindered them, or whether it’s just a weak squad.

Tell us who it is. You aren’t likely to get more attempts

The answer is bottom left Peter James, with Oxford City in this Photo. He signed for the Wanderers in 1959 and scored an astonishing 39 goals in 51, first team appearances. Peter sadly died in Jan 2025.

His goals to games ratio, i believe is the highest for any player that made 50 plus appearances for WWFC. Peter Lowen scored 25 goals in just 21 appearances in 1963/64 season.

Adam Reach scores for Lincoln to make it 4-2 with 2 minutes to play against Peterborough

Assist for Kone in a QPR 3-0 win vs Sheffield Wednesday.

Also in that Lincoln match a very well composed breakaway 5th Lincoln goal for their number 2.

Seeing Nathan Bishop made me think about Tyla Dickinson; he appears to now play for Hanworth Villa in the Isthmian South Central

And is now apparently at Adams Park watching the game

This was really perplexing. I didn’t rate him as much as others on here, but I’m still flabbergasted he’s ended up at a much lower level. Thought he’d do fantastically in League 2.

It’s an interesting time to be getting into USL. They’re bringing in promotion and relegation in the next couple of years, hoping it will generate better players and more meaningful games.

Plus Jacksonville looks like a sensational place to live.

Funny, I was googling him the other day and was amazed he hadn’t found another league club. Looks an interesting move and still think we should have retained him. Didn’t get many minutes and often looked a threat.
