Can someone let Henning know we should be grateful for what we have, as Wycombe fans used to all walk uphill five miles in the snow both ways for a meagre bowl of non-league gruel?

It was only one way @Shev - Loakes Park was at the bottom of the hill. Although it did feel a bit of a trek uphill form the cow shed to the bar behind the main stand at half time if it was raining

For those wondering about context, here’s the original tweet…

It’s lazy calling them Russians, but if they don’t want to be criticised on social media, they’re in the wrong business.

Calling them “the Russians” is offensive imo, but Wehn’s schtick nowadays is all very anti-cancel culture so he won’t like to be told that. For them to get involved on point a is strange, but I’m not surprised they’d be unhappy at point b.

I guess it’s alright to call them former Soviet citizens.

Agree with Henning’s criticism of the regime, but absolutely don’t agree with him calling them Russians and Soviets. No need for that.

if an obscure comedian making one tweet about Russia can upset Lomm…Mikhail Lomtadze MBA so much then it’s no surprise he hasn’t been to a game. He must be terrified to leave the house.

I don’t imagine we’ll be seeing him in the Royal Box again at Wembley. For at least two reasons.

There is a chance Hennig mentioned Russians as a joke. He’s like that.

The Times They Are A-Changin’…

If the owners were upset by Henning’s tweet, they probably should avoid our discussions on here!

Not sure what he was thinking publicly calling them Russians.
On the one hand a “friend” of the club makes that remark so call him out.
On the other, he’s a nobody, so why bother rising to it.

He’s appeared on Have I Got News and Would I Lie to You a few times plus Just a Minute on Radio 4 so he has a certain amount of heft surely.

And he lodged with my old mate, the late Cyril Rance for six months, so there!

He’s probably our most famous supporter since the passing of Bill Turnbull.

Certainly a not uncommon attitude from people who grew up in West Germany during the cold war. If the owner was Ukrainian there’s a fair chance he’d probably call him Russian too (or at least would have done before the current disagreement).

From Lomtadze’s perspective I can fully understand his irritation. People with Georgian and Kazakh heritage are, after gaining independence from the Soviet Union and their uneasy relationships with the Russian Federation, going to go to pains to not be known as “Russian” as they typically were during Soviet times.

According to companies house accounts he’s “Georgian”. What a fantastic choice he has
