Kone's Next Destination

You have to have at least 3 strikers to rotate, keep fresh & add a layer of competition. If one gets injured, you have at least 2 options to match the tactic.

Are you now a retired person @Otter87 ?

I find it hard to get my head around too. I think technically, Mehmeti has been one of the most gifted players I’ve seen play for Wycombe. However due to his position and the club not really needing to keep a close eye on it’s finances, that’s why the fee for Kone is much higher

I wish! I’m on holiday next week and it’s been a very slow day at work where I’ve already done my hand over to those taking over! (Has it been that noticeable…..?)

Whatever the outcome, what an incredible journey Richard has been on. I hope whatever happens he gets a deal (either extension of contract from us or a contract from a new team) which means he and his family never have a financial concern for the rest of their lives. He has earned that through his incredible resilience to get where he is now!

Im interested in who is his agent? Hes clearly being hawked round like a piece of meat. These rumours are coming from his camp, surely.

I think Wycombe would rather not sell and don’t want a bidding war. But if it goes over 5m that’s a no brainer isnt it?

My worry was always pace with Kone, and still feel it may hold him back a bit.

It’s truly remarkable how your Gasroom career has taken off since April. You must be delighted. No doubt you’ll be in full flow next week but there’ll be a massive re-emergence of former regulars, given that at long last we will have a match to analyse and dissect. As the slowest plodder on here I’ll struggle to get a word in.

I lost interest in the Richard Kone situation some time ago. And speculation about his final destination seems rather pointless. But I’m probably very much in the minority.

Enjoy your week off.

Kone’s twitter account is mostly pictures of him but every now and then he posts something that shows he is a devout Christian. So our best bet is that he listens to God before he listens to his agent and God says he should stay with us for at least another year.

Or he might tell him to go to Preston as he loves moves that are mysterious.

Best guess would be we’d use some of the money to try to sign Ronan Hale

Doubt anyone will be paying £5m plus to stick him in their reserves.

Pace is his flaw for sure. If we replace him I would like it to be a striker with speed.

If Fink gets injured who do we have then ?

I agree we need a third central striker should Kone leave. My point is Fink is the perfect replacement for Kone.

Can’t disagree with that . Hopefully a yard quicker too.

The money realised for Kone discussion is irrelevant - it’s lose change for ‘the ownership group’.

Data Dan and his number crunchers will believe they know exactly what Kone’s potential (not worth) is and if that fits with ‘the project’ plans and therefore if he figures in the clubs strategy.

So, let’s all sit back and enjoy the football tomorrow.

I assume it’s relevant for FFP, but every time i try and understand the rules i understand them less.

It is relevant as we can reinvest 60% of the fee received. So if we get £5m we can spend £3m

We can spent all of it but only 60% on wages

Sorry @Bayo League One is not The Championship. SCAMP rules as applied to FFP in EFL League One apply to % wage capping, transfer revenue is not the controlling financial criteria.

Kone’s final destination. Everyone’s final destination.
