Kone's Next Destination

Indeed! The thread should be Kone’s next destination. Wherever that may be, good luck to him and I hope it’s the right move.

Wycombe Wanderers chairman Dan Rice said owner Mikheil Lomtadze may not visit the club this season.

The Kazakhstani billionaire took over at Adams Park in May 2024, but is yet to be seen by fans at any of the matches.

Chairman Dan Rice told BBC 3CR: "I’m not going to say he’s going to be here next week, or this season. He’s a super-busy guy and he’s here without being here, if that makes sense?

All powerful but invisible. A bit like God. Are you listening, Kone?

The only part of this I’ve enjoyed is little old Wycombe finally being in a position to tell bigger clubs to do one with their low ball bids.

According to SCMP, 60% of turnover can be spent on wages and transfer fees received are included in turnover on a cash basis when payments are received.

So if we sell Kone for £5M it’s an extra £3M we can spend on wages, all else being equal.

Glad we haven’t got one of those yankee carpetbagger owners striding about the place making ridiculous promises and getting testy with the fan base. Better to have a silent partner who we never see who works through intermediaries. As long as he keeps pumping in the money. What could go wrong?

I miss the gee’d up bloke in a cowboy hat and PE lost property trainers. YEAH, I’m a wanderer!

Not directly related, but looking into Jason Whittingham, the dubious Morecambe owner, he was the owner of Worcester RU who went into liquidation with debts of 25 million, and has dissolved numerous other companies. He bought into Worcester via his associate Jed McCrory, who sold his interest to Whittingham.

Where have you heard the name McCrory before ? Just Google Swindon Town,Banbury Utd and his involvement in the demise of Hereford United.

Then cast your minds back, to when Trevor Stroud called two meetings where potential buyers of WWFC were to be introduced to Trust members, on both occasions this consortium failed to turn up, but some more observant Gasroom members revealed the names of this Swindon Consortium, which were linked to McCrory, I remember one being named Gary Hooper, and it soon became evident, that a number of these characters certainly didn’t have WWFC best interests as a priority. I believe they failed to deposit 300k they promised into Wanderers account, so to advance talks of a potential takeover. This coincided with eagle eyed gasroomers, who seemed to have more nous than Stroud and Co, to expose these Charlatans.

So we should share Morecambe’s pain, as it was very nearly us.

What if Dave Carroll becomes his Agent? What then?!?

He’d make like a tree and leave , or in other words Alder-shot

The Trust made some lousy decisions, trying to flog us to Harry Kerr (Avondale) when he was allegedly wanted by Interpol and Gary Hooper.

Why did no Trust board directors conduct due diligence before proposing a deal.

As Pete has posted, they rejected Couhigs because they were star struck before going back cap in hand to the very people they rejected. Doh!

Kone gone. Not in starting lineup

As on not in the squad or on the bench?

Not in the squad.

Oh dear. Hopefully that means we’ve dragged people up to a huge figure just before the season starts.

Pressure on Tilley and Fink, unless that was always the plan.

Dodds confirms we’ve put a contract on the table.

But yeah, he’s gone.

Sums up the difference between a manager and coach…. the situation regarding Kone means basically MD was told he is not available.

I think that’s unfair. Kone is a valuable asset that is in the process of being sold. If he gets injured, his value drops or the deal disappears.

Yep, it sounds like a week of absolute carnage and seems impossible that he won’t now be sold. Only question is how soon. Risking a 5m or more fee crumbling due to any injury today would be a mad decision.

Annoying this has happened now rather than a month back but the Fink signing was clearly intended as a replacement so at least we should be ready when he’s fully fit.

I’m sorry, but I don’t buy this players being left out so that they can sort out a big pay day.
It’s undeniable - Kone was brilliant for us first half of the season. Second half was abit of a no show. Anyone feel he owes us at least another 6 months? Get the team going, and his own form and goal scoring, which goal wise dried up. Maybe i’m being harsh, and acting like a jealous ex-boyfriend being dumped, but would love to see a little more loyalty from players…

Wishing him all the best, whatever happens. I’ll forever has his picture in my wallet…
