The FA Cup is now 2 rounds old & on Saturday 30th August the 1st Qualifying Round takes place (all 3pm kick-offs). Local sides have a good representation at this stage so if you’re not going to Stevenage you may like to take in one of these matches:
That’s a pretty good representation of the weather conditions! It felt like a game that Lewes would strangle the life out of if they got in front, fair play to Flackwell for turning it around with some good substitutions and digging deep against a Lewes team that could have adapted better to the pitch and conditions.
The draw was made today for the 2nd Qualifying Round of the FA Cup. Matches will be played on Saturday 13th September. Here’s who the local sides came out of the hat:
Billericay Town v Berkhamsted
Chesham Utd v Kings Lynn Town
Hemel Hempstead v Real Bedford or Bishops Stortford
In attendance at Slough tonight was a certain Mr Ainsworth. Didn’t get a chance to speak to him although putting two and two together it’s possible he was running an eye over maybe some loan players at Welling which is of course not 1,000,000 miles from Gillingham.
Good luck to Flackwell Heath in the Fourth and final Qualifying Round. They head to Maldon & Tiptree tomorrow with the chance to create history and reach the First Round Proper.
