Match Day Thread: Blackpool 18th Oct 2025

Trouble is Woodrow hasn’t looked particularly impressive at all. Our striking options are not up to scratch.

Barely a crumb.

It’s more the point of we’ve gone from our best ever selection of centre backs to a set that are more like the Waddock days.

We all know we couldn’t get those exact 3 we had last year - though might of managed Low better, but surely we could have put a better combination of centre backs together for the rough £1m + or so we’ve spent there!? Inflation hasn’t gone up that much has it that 400-500k is the level of fee for average / slightly below average league 1 centre backs!?

Unless I’m totally misremembering it, he did start well for a couple of games.

Plenty were raving about him the first couple of games.

He’s got some good attributes but is definitely quite flimsy. And not got much to beat players with, but still tries a lot anyway.

We’re shit, and we know we are.

Facts.

I feel rude admitting it, but I quite like aways knowing I don’t have to bother getting the whole 20 or so mins drive over to the ground…

He had a good game against Northampton, but has been largely anonymous since. Fink is also clearly quite a long way off the required standard.

We’re all still clinging to the “maybe he just takes ages to get fit” card, but the further we get into the season the more silly that feels.

We can’t even take comfort from the Danes having an anonymous first 6months then looking good after that, as they still haven’t!

Bell’s decsion making is awful

Boiled Mince

You don’t sack a manager who has been in the job for a month and has inherited a substandard squad?
If someone thinks my logic is questionable, I look forward to hearing their views as to why

We are appalling. Centre halves are tragic. No street smarts at all. Exactly the nonsense you’d expect when you allow AI to make your transfers

Major surgery required for this squad.

i think today is the day whe we can all stop pretending that great things are just around the corner and accept that it’s amateur hour despite having a billionaire owner.

I’m not sure what game the (usually very good) Sam Avery and Toby Large have been watching today. First they thought the Blackpool elbow was a harsh yellow card, and now they think Boyd Munce has had a good game? Almost every pass he’s made today has been either poorly targeted or so delayed that it’s become easy to intercept.

Only a maniac like the Forest fella would sack a manager this soon.

Duffsy has done well to squeeze a few results out so far - that’s the first priority. The nice play can come later.

Having had plenty of “nice play” from Doddsy that was pretty ineffectual, we can live with that.

Who said anything about sacking?

In fairness to the commentators re. the yellow card, I’m not sure they had the best angle, they can’t always see what we get at home. There was one angle where it didn’t look that bad but another one where it looked stonewall.
