Match Day Thread: Burton 13th Dec 25

I’m not sure anyone thinks at any point this season we have a brilliant squad but I get what you mean.

We are certainly short of quality at CB, CM and CF.

I don’t see Rice or Stockwell being given another chance to get things right. The owner needs to bring in someone with experience in the men’s game and a new head of recruitment who understands the needs in League One.

Though we probably play Henderson ( our best midfielder) and Abbott if both were fit though. Both decent recent signings.

Thank fuck it’s over.

Dan Casey showing the right stuff.

yay.

Dreadful game.

Have we played worse this season in possession?

That was certainly one of the games of all time.

As long as Rice isn’t involved with transfers i’m sure Duff will bring in players that will improve our squad and let him get rid of players who are not fit to wear the blue quarters.

Would just love to know what the planning stage looked like.

Bearing in mind we have 3 attacking loanees who didn’t feel the Plan A approach.

They must have thought a near £1m striker would have contributed more by now. They cannot think we’re so big time we can nurse a player of that value in over a couple of years.

Current position seems very apt. 12th. 3 points off relegation, 7 points off the play-offs. But we’re one of few sides with a positive goal difference! Crazy league.

Didn’t he play in CM and score against Mansfield to keep thr run going, with his late fluke?

I know things are a bit erratic, but we can’t just make things up.

Taylor is not coming back. Thought Casey did well, especially for that block in the 347th minute.

Ok change it to “barely” got a game in centre midfield when we had the power 3 there.

Back to 3 points off the bottom four. Are we back in a relegation battle?

Better second half but not great. McNeilly offered something.

But major concerns in attack.

Bell has gone off the boil, not helped by illness.

Woodrow has been hit and miss. And is not offering much at the moment.

Lowry and Fink have both failed to take their chances.

It least Fred is offering us something going forward at the moment.

But it is looking like we need two attacking players in January now.

Of course not.
