Perhaps Norris will now realise the timing, certainly for this ref, starts when he’s in control of the ball and includes the time spent flopping needlessly to the ground to waste time

Yeah, just edited my comment to reflect that.
I’m of the school of thinking that, whether you like the rule or not, if refs don’t enforce it, players will ignore it and benefit from it.
Yes, burton took advantage and played the corner as quick as they could to try and take advantage - and why not. I don’t see the need to whinge about the ref A playing the game by the rules and B our defence not being as alive to the decision being made as the opposition attackers.
Only a matter of time before Burton score. All over us.
Aside from a belting strike, its been a dull half.
I know Duff isnt a massive possession for possessions sake man, but when youre at home you need control. There is a merit in keeping the ball to suffocate a team. We’ve been poor at moving it around

Burton are one of the better teams we’ve seen this season.
I’m going to be very generous to our side and say we are playing averagely because of the sun we have been forced to play into in this half.
There’s a reason we’ve were asked to play this way

Been really impressed with Anders & Casey in this half.
Burton are a decent side, certainly one of the better teams we have played so far.

How weird. The goal aside I think we’ve actually been pretty rubbish. Strange atmosphere inside AP too. Feels a bit like an end of season dead rubber.
I have a sense of trepidation about what is going to happen second half, hope Duff can re focus the team in the halftime talk.
Burton look like they have a plan and are going for it. Its lots of containing and defending by us.
Its pretty narky though, and someone may be getting sent off, loved when big Dan Casey hot involved after Hendo kicked the guy.
As I game, not great, but when we pass and move we can be dangerous.
Norris does worry me with our high line and as a sweeper, still not sure its his game
Mullins being bypassed a bit.
Not much of a fun match to watch, other than that superb screamer by CBM. I’ve never been Mullins’ biggest fan but today he’s excelled in mediocrity. An early substitution for Vidigal would be great, then put Harris in Mullins’ position.
Burton are the most mysterious team in L1, and we are what we are, so nothing has surprised me so far.

Need to see a replay but did the ref actually indicate the 5 seconds count down, before awarding Burton the corner?
Literally noone around me could be certain what had happened.
If he did and Norris didn’t off load the ball then that’s okay, and you hope the ref is consistent with it.
If they do that at the World Cup - where I think I saw they will also apply the rule at goal kicks, corners, free kicks and throw-ins (?) - then it’s going to be carnage in a few games.
