The 10 men were not easy to play against .You have to find the gaps and they were always going to be effective on the break with their attacking quality . The last game they went down to 10 men they won.
Yes Connor had a very good game and assisted the second goal. A great road trip to Cardiff along with a great result, irrespective if they had 10 players second half.
I think Norris deserves some credit as well as Taylor. Norris looked composed , his passing slick and he made a good save. He has been hit and miss but last night he was excellent.
He seemed much more energised. Took a nice couple of catches in the first half as well.
I agree if he turned up like that every game we wouldnāt be talking new keeper.
After Saturday I was dreading last nightās game. No expectation at all. Credit to Duff on the tactics, great defending with no silly tackles giving away dangerous free kicks. When they went down to 10 men we still kept our shape and kept our patience. Subs did their jobs and won us the game. Special mentions to Connor Taylor, Morris coming for crosses. Two great balls for the goals for Morley. Interesting to hear Duff say that Vidigal hasnāt played because he let himself down by being late for a meeting. He is once off those players that has talent and he knows it, but needs to learn that itās a team game and its not all about him.
Always this, anyone who actually travelled deserves this win massively
Also, about the challenges of playing with 10, it completely rewrites your plan to approach the game. In the post-match, Duff says they had to play on the break because Cardiff keep the ball so well. That gets slightly ripped up when we suddenly have an extra man to use. Absolute props should be given to the side for being able to adjust smartly, over time, to stretch the play and find the gaps when we started to have more of the ball.
Sumptuous pass from Morley. Re-watched it about fifty times.
Also; marvel at my technical breakdown analysis graphics. I am available for hire.
Came here to post this and youād already posted it!
What a fantastic pass. Rewatched it so many times already. Morley really is an outstanding League 1 player. Plays like Fabregas in all the right ways.
Itās a brilliant goal all round. Great pass from Morley (how many assists does he already have for us since his return? and indeed contributions to goals?), but the touch and finish from Vidigal is top class. Looked like he controlled it off his shoulder. However he did it, it was a fantastic touch
Well that was fun!
What a difference a few days makes. From the last 20 minutes at Bolton, the Saturday debacle against Luton and last night. I suppose these things shouldnāt surprise me anymore but they do and that is the essence of sport. If only the administrators of the beautiful game understood that.
Cardiff were head and shoulders the best team weāve played against for passing, movement, speed but they couldnāt put the ball in the net. They went down to 10 and it made little difference. Quality all over the pitch and it was really good to watch them, as they were the benchmark we should aim for. Frightening to think they came down last year from the Championship. On last nightās evidence, although we won, we are a long way off being able to finish 4th bottom in the Championship.
Extremely pleased for Connor Taylor, what a game he had, hopefully we will see some consistency now. I also think Norris has been much improved and maybe he is just the current person to pick on, as every set of fans at any club always seem to have one player to pick on. Heās got weaknesses but that is why he plays in L1.
Glad I made the trip, Orient tickets booked in the car on the journey home, COYB!
Iām struggling to think of a more palate-cleansing victory in recent times. Feels vibrant, refreshing and Iām now ready for the final course of this seasonās banquet. (Just a pity the starter was off otherwise it would be a good, solid four-star review)
Despite the Bolton and Luton loses, we have got 12 points from the last 6 games! Only Lincoln and Plymouth have gained more points than us in those six games. I still think we can do it and get a play off place.![]()
We have a more competent chef now.
Just skimming the Cardiff forumā¦main complaintsā¦no strikers, poor subs, manager too stubborn and has no plan B, title has gone, Osho should never pull on the shirt again, poor attendance and if they get promoted they wonāt survive without 10 new players.
All sounds very familiar.
Described by the Cardiff BBC online reporter as a long ball by centre half Morley. The bitterness of the whole piece is lovely.
