Duff consistently gets to the heart of the matter with no double speak or coaching waffle. And despite having one prominent detractor of his man management, he seems to know how to handle those who need a kick (Vidi) and those who need an arm round them (C. Taylor).

Vidigal is certainly an interesting character. There’s a kind of swagger even when he’s standing still being interviewed! I commented after his first appearance about a month ago that he looked as if he could be a loose cannon. It’s written all over his face!

The further up the leagues you go, you will get those players who are a bit lively, to be polite. And thats when the manager needs to show he can manage. The old school do as I say, probably doesn’t work anymore though.

…fair amount of this team.As a result that was not a bottom three Championship team we played last night. It was a new team on a role and bursting with confidence . A team on the up rather than on the slide.That said I honestly believe that if you want to go up and stay up you have to become a championship quality team in whilst still in this division and go up automatically . We ain’t that for sure.

There is some truth to this but look at Charlton….i’m not saying that we have the squad for it but I don’t think we are far off, just either end need sorting as the middle is just right

I did notice that we defended corners differently/successfully, differently at Cardiff. The players kept the Cardiff players away from Norris by hook or by crook thus allowing Norris some space to move forward and punch the ball away. Credit to the set piece coach for identifying the problem v Luton and dealing with it.
