We shouldn’t be seeing ourselves as underdogs. They have good players, but so the hell do we. The team proved they can play earlier in the season, and the players need to remember that. If Charlton were that good, they wouldn’t be in the playoffs would they? We can win this game, but we can’t go into it thinking we’re not in their class. Bollocks to that.
Amen to bollocks to that
For me tonight is a one off game, so I would sey up in a very specific way that isn’t what I’d normally want to see.
I would play a back 4 of Grimmer, Joe Low, Bradley, and Caleb Taylor at left back. Instructuons to just defend. Both Jack and Caleb are excellent 1 on 1 defenders so need to stick to their wingers like glue and dont let them get on the run. I would play Bakinson in the Morley position to effectively man mark Luke Berry. Then Simons and Leahy in the middle, with Reach left midfield, and Fred right midfield. Those wide players really doubling up and covering each other on their fast wingers. Like an old fashioned wide midfielder. Then Udoh up front alone to run and harry his heart out for 45-60 minutes.
Stay in the game as long as we can, really pressuring and physical approach like Sunday. Hopefully frustrate the crowd a bit, and then on 60 minutes switch to 4-2-3-1 and go for it. Kone for Udoh, McCleary for Reach, Humphries for Bakinson.
Simons-Simons
McCleary-Humphries-Fred
Kone
Also with Sadlier and Westergaard for any tired legs later on.
In general though if we can perform with the same heart and desire as we did on Sunday I’ll be happy
I’m nervous
I’m excited now. Just leaving.
I’m going through states of different emotions ranging from “It’s doesn’t matter” to “I’m so excited that I can’t read this report”, my head is all over the place!
it’s nearly time for a beer isn’t it?
My first beer is already open!
By the way, happy 38th birthday Garath McCleary. Any ideas on a good present for him…
I’ve been fluctuating from optimism to pessimism about the game all day. I’ve been picturing how we are going to score our 3 goals in moments of great optimism.
Safe trip to all those who are going.
I haven’t read much since sunday, but I feel I’m probably in the minority that we didn’t do enough, and if we go out tonight, we’ll look back at the 1st leg, thinking we should of done more.
However by keeping it tight we’re still in the tie and who knows what can happen in a one off game. Another 0-0 draw and we win on pens…
Kids are excited and I’m going to stick the play off top we got on sunday on Ellis.

On the beta blockers and beer now. Hopefully moving onto Champagne (okay, Prosecco) later rather than having to hit the whisky and Joy Division.
Am at the ground trying to collect tickets - ticket office have said the person in possession of them is still at London Bridge and not expected to be here for another half hour…
Onto pint number 4
Good start then …
Wycombe just rocked up with them all in a rucksack!
On the train to Charlton, safe journey all. Just get behind the lads and stay positive.
COME. ON. WYCOMBE.
