I’m sure last summer, having seen how much Birmingham were spending, Rice said something along the lines of “we could do the same, but we’re going to do it differently”.
So now we have started banging the money in, the expectations can only be higher. You don’t bang millions into a transfer budget for a 3rd tier team just to be happy to stay at that level.
I doubt we have spent much more than the fee we got for Kone.
But did we spend knowing that Kone fee was imminent? Or were we intending to spend anyway?

I’d be bloody delighted with finishing 9th right now. In fact, I’d probably take 19th.

I think we were spending anyways because we had the freedom to do so. With the investment in the ground & Marlow Road, it gave us the availability to spend.
Next summer will be interesting with the PFP (or whatever it’s called) unless the leadership group decide to splash more cash & redevelop Adams Park or build a new ground

Just rewatched the goal we conceeded. The pass to Anders was fine, he had the pass on to Leahy, played quick and early, takes 2 out the game. The pass back was ridiculous, the keeper should obviously have let it go. But I can see why Doddser is annoyed.
The thing that most intrigued me with that Angry Doddsy post match interview is the juxtaposition with that shot of him on TV that someone already mentioned, directly after we conceded, looking at the iPad monitor with an expression that was perfectly sanguine - indeed, bordering on serene.
If he wants passion and aggression from his players, how about he shows us some himself on the touchline?
It makes me wonder whether the bollocking he apparently got from Dan / Tom / Eduard came at some point between the final whistle and the media interview.
