Only one of sixteen U21 Premier League teams have made it through to the Round of 32. That was West Ham who always seem to be one of the stronger U21 teams.
Ten of the U21 teams finished bottom without registering a win. Men against boys.

So pleased to see Brad get another goal, was very personable when we spoke to him at the sponsors day, he did however mention that he’d not really been out and about in the local area etc.
Having done several international work moves during my career one thing that always gets underestimated is the stress that comes with moving to a foreign country. Work is not normally this issue, or at least I never found that to be the case, it was the life outside of work that was a massive driver of stress. By this I mean everyday things like going to the supermarket or putting the bins out take no thought, they’re second nature, but imagine now having to think about all of those things. Where do I go to buy such and such item? Having to concentrate on driving? Figuring out how the medical system works etc?
Really not to be underestimated and so I am not surprised that our foreign imports have taken a while to adjust, most cultural thoughts around this are that it take at least six months for the new country to be “normalised” ie that’s when things feel “normal” again and not having to expend energy on the day to day stuff. Also I keep having to remind myself that these guys are still kids really so a lot to deal with at their age. So glad our “foreigners” now seem to be looking more settled.

very good point - and something that clubs higher up the pyramid have adapted to in the past decade. Brighton particularly good at signing overseas players then bedding them in slowly

Our company had cultural training prior to a move but the piece that was missing was the aftercare once they’d landed. When I brought folks from abroad to work I would personally take them and their partner etc out and show them round local places, shops, pubs etc so they felt more comfortable outside of the office and it paid off with them being happier and more productive in the office.

I know clubs such as Man Utd have a specific employee to help new signings settle in. I wonder if that happens further down the pyramid?

You have to imagine the players at the bigger clubs also get a lot more support In terms of having “people” to do a lot of the heavy lifting of the stuff @Ozzie_the_Relaxed describes. Or at the very least are able to afford to pay people to sort the mundane things so they can focus on football.

Nope we were in the Gordon Road stand. Which was thankfully covered as it p*ssed it down for a while. The official attendance said 66, but I think 45 was about the most I could see.
It was so quiet that you could hear the ball whistle across the surface, it was quite surreal.
Then you think back to COVID days and it must have been like a sell out compared to then!

yeah it did sound really weird on WWTV that you could easily hear any more vocal individual, whether on or off the pitch.

I was hoping for League 2 side so that we could rest a few players and get the rest of the wider squad some match time. We’ll need to put out the first choice squad in some form to be on the safe side.
Week of. I’m sure they changed it after I saw “ON 1st Dec”.
Although. Rotherham the weekend before. Exeter the weekend after, not the best time to be playing
