Especially when they stick 9 man behind the ball and don’t come out.
As much as I enjoyed the game, and the performance and hope it’s a good run coming, we are still only 3pts above relegation having played a game more than a few below us. There’s a way to go before looking up to play offs.
You’re right to be cautious, and we far from out of the woods yet. However, since Duff took over in all competitions…
WWLDWWDW
And we received an apology from the EFL for that L.
One game at a time, but this is progress.
Yup, I just didn’t add that fact, I didn’t want to sour it, but it’s a good point, as much as we are flowing in the right direction now, this is a crazy league for after 13/14 matches the difference’s between the lowest team not in the relegation slot’s and the top team’s is only 11 points. ![]()

Good performance. Great to see us trying to score right up the whistle. Jack and Fred played some nice stuff. Henderson, Bell and Harvie were good. Taylor and Allen worked.I liked Woodrow actually linking up play and pleased he got a goal.
Fred is just…well Fred. Great goal.
Jack nearly scored for goodness sake!
Their goalie played a blinder. Norris had nowt to do and did it well.
Duff might know what he’s doing. Even at 11 v 11 he had them pressing their Doddsball style passing it around the back with great effect I thought.
Kids for a quid loss hoodoo and Alfie May always scores hoodoo both sent packing on same day. Bring on the cups!
Didn’t even need to see the post to know who’d have made it!
Thankfully long since ignored.
That’s the slightly worrying thing.
It feels like we’ve banked some decent points under Doddsy, yet are only 3 points off 4th bottom!
However, we are only 3 points off 7th too! Huge gang of teams in reach with 1 more win.
For the first time I’m wondering how what momentum could go. Yet knowing that today hugely turned on that red card.
We may well have still won it, but no chance so comfortably.
Luckily my “not on your left foot noooo” jus before Fred smashed in …on his left foot, wasn’t committed to screen at the time!
Henderson is looking better every game now. Taylor and Allen played well today and Fred was superb. We are starting to look the part but I would still love to see us sign that defensive midfield player in January. The big improvement is that we are competing now. COYB!!!
Think where we would have been under Dodds. Entrenched in the relegation zone most likely.
It’s easy to get carried away after a win, and depressed after a defeat, but right now I think that Duffball has gone as well as realistically could be expected after the Dodds shambles.
Note the word “realistically”, it’s impossible to conceive of winning every game with this poorly-assembled squad.
Still a long way to go - we won’t get a moment of madness like May’s in our favour every week, and for all of Duff’s talk of changing the mentality so we don’t wait till we go behind till we start playing, we started the game incredibly weakly, and Hudds were in our faces from the off. Why can’t we do that?
We are still crying out for an aerially dominant, physical centre forward - Woodrow put in a good shift today and has decent hold-up play, but there were so many balls going into the box with no-one to convert them.
Delighted for Mr Duff given he was binned erroneously by the Terriers back in February this year.
Got to say fair play to the Owner for bringing Michael in.
His Fredness was an inspiration to watch, thought Connor Taylor looks like a decent player too. Onwards and Upwards.
Hope Mike Duff gets time to build his team.
I don’t think any of us are getting carried away but what a breath of fresh air this is after the pathetic Dodds era.
Doesn’t bear thinking about does it!
We could do with someone aerially strong in all departments to be fair.
Taylor has the height, but hasn’t yet learnt to maximise it.
Then after that we have a few decent guys, but not the sort of aerial power we’ve been accustomed to in recent years.
A week and two hours ago I was getting pelted for claiming we weren’t in a relegation battle. Of course we are not. And 10 points off top spot gives me reason to believe we are now in a promotion battle!
You are indeed one of the forum’s most beloved brothers.
But I believe you also said Fink was a signing so incredible that we should all hug each other at the prospect (slightly paraphrasing).
However, I won’t rule it out yet, if you’re not doing so.
Really enjoyed that.
Obviously the sending off had a impact, but thought a good team performance.
Great to see Fred having such a positive impact on games again!
Also just a word for Joe Low - I loved him when he was here, so no doubt biased but just think he is a class act.
Just lost 3-0, but makes a point of embracing majority, if not all of the players left from his time here, and then makes the effort to applaud home fans - glad he got plenty of appreciation back.
Huddersfield were abysmal but I’ve seen enough Wycombe games over the years where we’ve been terrible against ten men. A very enjoyable afternoon and lovely to see fans leaving with smiles on their faces
