We didnt look good into the sending off however we were pressing and defending well , as the commentators said it looked like we were expecting them to come at as in the first part of the match and were planned to shut them down . Think we would come into the game the longer it went on they knew if we could do that they he Huddersfield fans would have been on the backs of their team . Don’t think a wycombe player had a bad game

I’m struggling to think of a worse display with 10 men. Huddersfield just offered nothing at all after the red card.
We did well enough but failing to win that would have been extremely disappointing.
We have 8 from the last 12 pts,
Our relative form (PPG for last 8 games vs PPG for all games) under Duff shows us with a +54% improvement in form.
All this suggests that Duff’s more pragmatic, get the basics right approach is bearing fruit.
He says ‘weve settled on this formation, looks like’ as if its just happened, haha. Hes done a fantastic job in making us much more pragmatic.
On the formation, to me it looked almost a 442. And bizarrely, both Woodrow and Lowry wanted to play in midfield in that
I think Huddersfield have some great players and were the better side until the red card.
But they are being appallingly managed with that nonsense passing the back so beloved of modern day coaches. That contributed to at least one of our goals.
Grant will surely be sacked soon.
It must be infuriating to watch as a Huddersfield fan. But we know all that under Dodds.
One other comment on Huddersfield: I thought their fans were absolutely pathetic. As soon as the first one in they were on their players’ backs. However bad it got under Dodds we still absolutely supported our players.
And he forced a good save.
They don’t seem very complimentary about Joe Low on their forum either. Perhaps in reality he isn’t that much better than our current options.
6th on current form now.
And but for their clear man of the match it could easily have been double that.
Duff predicted they would be up for it from the start because of what happened against Bolton. He was not wrong but Norris only had one meaningful save to make in that first 20 mins and the intensity they were showing was not really sustainable.
Watching May from behind the goal he looked possesed ! he was almost too up for it and I am sure this is what caused him to go in like he did for an awful challenge.
Sometimes 10 men are not easy to break down so 3-0 still has to be earned.
Sorry but I can’t have that. He’s absolutely outstanding, as proven in the 75+ games for us
Or struggling to get to grips with this head coach’s crazy game plan? I’d have Low back in a heartbeat.
Someone will try and argue that was 3 at the back today! As long as it’s not Duff this time!
Maybe he’s not shown top form for Huddersfield and you could argue he might not be in as good form as our centre backs.
But I can’t believe anyone who watched Low for us wouldn’t rate him far above anything we’ve seen from the 4 or 5 options we have in that position currently.
I imagine these things are fluid, and as we advanced we moved to 3 at back. But honestly isn’t it all so dull to talk formations on the back of that win haha?
In terms of Huddersfield, they were good in the first 20. Imposing and knocked it about well. We did well to go toe to toe, and until the red card, I thought it’d be probably 1-0 either way.
After the red, we managed it brilliantly, and they didn’t. That probably comes with head coach experience in how go deal with that situation
On the Hudds forum they were complaining about lack of pace and mobility.
But depending on the team set-up and the players you have in front of you, that shouldn’t be such a big deal for a CB (hopefully you have a holding midfielder and/or full backs to shield you from pacey runners), and of course especially one at this level, where no-one can be expected to score 10/10 on all aspects.
At his best for us, he was strong in the air, calm on the ball (as in, not panicked by players running at him whilst in possession), and a handful from set pieces.
Grant playing all that hideous cocking about at the back stuff is likely to put the defence under greater pressure than they need to be, so he has a different set of pressures than he would have with us.
I don’t think we’d yet converted to the “pissing about at the back” style whilst Low was still with us (even under Dodds), and indeed I think Bradley had largely edged Low out of the team at that point in any case.
But yeah, if I recall correctly he was attracting interest from Championship clubs whilst he was still with us (in the Bloomfield era), so I think that should be an indicator of quality.
I only listened on 3CR but sounded like Castledine was running the show until the sending off and him going off injured. I think we all hoped for a real ‘statement’ win today to rubber stamp the upward trajectory. Hopefully this was it and we’re only looking up now. Crazy division this season!
Up until the red card Huddersfield were battering us.
Fred was our best player by some distance. God help our attacking options if he gets injured.
A misplaced pass by Joe Low was certainly the catalyst for one of our goals- as others have said I’d still take him in our defence over any current option I’ve seen.
